Supreme Court Throws Health Care Back Into The Congress

Probably. They will probably also be exempt from the "cadillac plans". Doesn't that stink? If your employers gives you great insurance, you will be taxes on it.

They should all be required to go to those clinics and hospitals just north of the Capitol!
Ha! Or any within a 20-mile radius!
I am sure we will all start getting "assignments" telling us where we "have" to go to get care.
And where--down the block--the line begins, in the rain.
A painted stripe.

I have not heard a single peep yet about the Health Plan for CONGRESS.
Are they still to be pampered and sent to special places?

no changes. act surprised. can't be cadillac threat since its free.

Yes, I think so.
And--it will do so anyway.
The November election is the place where people can decide if they want this monstrosity--or--NOT.
In a way--a double-down to see if the people want socialism in medicine.
An interesting turn of events.

And when Obama wins again...as he won on doing the first time...your not going to shut up about it and keep pretending somehow he just enforced it on the land without you know the congress and Senate overpowering your childish filibusters of everything.

They did not send it back to anyone...they ruled it was constitutional....But believe what you want, as you lost.

He who laughs last--laughs best.
See me on November 7, 2012.

BTW--it was ruled a TAX.
TAXES--are constitutional.
We were sold a Bill of Goods.
And His Most Pious Islamic Majesty had claimed consistently that it was NOT!

I suppose the all suffer from a Messianic Complex--look at the drama they still shroud themselves in--needlessly.
Time for reform there. Or maybe electing them--with greater numbers.
Are you seriously suggesting that we should amend the constitution because you didn't get your way? if judges are elected they will lose their judicial independence and cower to the politics of the day. The average citizen is not sophisticated enough to evaluate complicated constitutional issues, and certainly is not qualified to determine the legality of a bill that implicates hundreds of principles that take years of legal study to comprehend. the supreme court must be able to act without fear of political retribution if they are to be a reliable body and an independent adjudicator of the issues.

As Justice Roberts pointed out and which the purportedly qualified administration council cound not, its really very simple. Congress has the authority to tax (but not to force people to buy) and that's what allowed this to be constitutional.

Section. 8.
The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes,

They should all be required to go to those clinics and hospitals just north of the Capitol!

I wonder what they are going to do for doctors? A lot of them are already not taking medicare and medicaid patients. And there are also many others who said they will quit their practices. It's going to be a mess.

don't forget that Medicaid rates are already scheduled to be reduced. the states that try to comply alrady have issues attracting docs and its getting less attractive. but they do know how the rates will be cut and can plan for negating that same as they have all the other cuts to save money.

I was talking about your suggestion of making the supreme court and electable body. Certainly we have the power to expand and contract the size of the court, but to take away a lifetime appointment or to make them popularly elected would require an amendment to the constitution. You can't really be suggesting this... are you?

wasn't me but you did wish to make this decision appear complex when its anything but.

I could care less if its a tax...and Its not.

Do you have a choice to pay taxes? No
DO you have a choice to pay for this? Yes
If you have health care...what do you pay...zero
If you don't have it and can't afford it...you actually get money to help buy it....

edited for personal attack

Judges must always rule his way, because Americans must always agree with him. It does not matter how wrong, you just must agree with him. If not you are Unamerican and should be thrown out of the nation...by this boy who pretends to believe in the First Amendment.
