Taiwan: The Forgotten Democracy

Taiwan was not always free, It was a rather brutal dictatorship until Chaing Kai Shek died. The people of Taiwan, a diverse group, freed themselves.

The Chinese Communists are not Fascists. China is not a terribly oppressive place for most of its citizens. Certainly North Korea, Myanmar, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Haiti, Cuba, Somalia, the DRC, Eritrea and Syria are worse places to live.

China is not really an oppressive place to live if the brutally oppressed victims of the CCP are hidden from sight, like the US must have been considered totally free hundreds of years ago if the slaves were not considered human.
