If the pundits for the continuation of this disaster want to quantify their reasoning then they'll keep repeating that rhetoric "IT IS NOT A CIVIL WAR" and that will make everyone feel all warm & fuzzy about the conflict and then we'll just keep sending more of our people to get maimed/wounded and to their DEATH and let us not mention the long term debt that it is costing us...we'll just ignore that FACT!

And the cost of not doing so, is...how many more Sept 11 do you want? Al Qaeda must be crushed, and the Taliban weakened to at least point of no or little power. Or else we may as well just say, terrorist, feel free to train here, and come attack again. we are wimps with no backbone to fight.

yes it is a civil war, always was...that's what happens when we back someone ( the northern alliance) to fight a 2nd group from same nation ( Taliban) . We'd have much better luck eradicating the 'COCKROACHES' into extinction then ridding the world of the ILK like the Taliban, especially in this country where the only really marketable product is 'Illegal Drugs'...we didn't have a 'PLAN' and what we are doing isn't working...
1. either legalize the drug and be the main source of purchasing agent for it {instant devaluation for an open market and this will put the black market/mafia profiteers out of a job}
2. or find a source of constant income that can/will be guaranteed for the lifetime of this country
3. or pull the hell out and leave this desolate country as we found it!!!

I've not been keeping a body count on the number of 'TERRORIST' that we've managed to eradicate...but if you have a number in mind, please compare that number to the number of innocent native/local victims that we've manged to murder-kill/wound/maim in the process of 'GETTING THOSE EVIL DOERS OUT OF THEIR COUNTRY?' Inquiring minds need to know...how many disposable bodies does it take to make this endeavor worth while?
