"Right-wing activists Jacob Wohl and Jack Burkman’s robocalls, targeting Black voters, violated the Voting Rights Act and Ku Klux Klan Act — and the question isn’t close enough to require a jury, a federal judge ruled.

“The Court recognizes that the free exchange of ideas on issues of public concern and the ability to engage in robust political discussion constitute the foundations of a democratic society,” Senior U.S. District Judge Victor Marrero wrote in a 111-page order on Wednesday.

Marrero nonetheless found that the evidence “establishes that the neighborhoods that Defendants targeted were not accidental or random,” finding that a reasonable jury couldn’t escape the conclusion that the pair wanted to “deny the right to vote, specifically to Black voters.”

"Six years after white supremacists descended on the University of Virginia with tiki torches in hand, there are reportedly some felony indictments.

At least three men were indicted for marching with blazing torches amid the Charlottesville rally, according to the Washington Post. The outlet cited a press statement by Albemarle County Commonwealth's Attorney James Hingeley.

"Indictments had been unsealed Tuesday for three defendants who were extradited from their home states: Tyler Bradley Dykes of Bluffton, S.C.; Dallas Medina of Ravenna, Ohio; and Will Zachary Smith of Nacona, Tex," the Washington post reported.

The indictments remain under seal, but local news sites reported that the rioters were charged with a class 6 felony that carries up to five years in prison."

"Five members of the white nationalist hate group Patriot Front were convicted Thursday of misdemeanor charges of conspiracy to riot at a Pride event.

A Kootenai County jury found Forrest Rankin, Devin Center, Derek Smith, James Michael Johnson and Robert Whitted guilty after about an hour of deliberation, news outlets reported.

A total of 31 Patriot Front members, including one identified as its founder, were arrested June 11, 2022, after someone reported seeing people loading into a U-Haul van like “a little army” at a hotel parking lot in Coeur d’Alene, police have said."
