Why did you take my quote out of context. It would not have been too much to keep the first three words that I embolden below:
You changed the context to make it sound like I was telling people that, when I was actually saying evolution tells us that. Your purpose of quoting me out of context seemed to be so you could give a lecture on what Rand said. I don't think you understood the meaning of my post at all.
The quote from Rand has no relevance to my whole post. I was talking about the socially inherited instincts of man as a clan, not modern day capitalism.

I think I'm pretty leftist to want more gun control, believe climate change is real, and want more govmt regulation of some industries. Now here you have me defending myself at not being left enough. It just happens that I don't show anger as much. I believe anger should be suppressed and come out more harmlessly as stress related diseases.
'Left' is a relative term. There was probably a 'left' in the tents of Ghenghiz Khan. It believed in leaving some prisoners alive to torture, I expect. God bless America!

Gun control does not work and only empowers the state and criminals (sorry for the redundancy), while limiting individual liberty.
Climate change is a proven big government power elite hoax.
Gov regulations seldom work and often cause harm to some...while granting favors to others, who are usually big corporations who flood stinking politicians with lots of cash.

Because without the mention of evolution, your statement equally applies to Collectivists on both the right and the left. The Right wing collectivists do not care about your rights as an individual, just as you do not care about theirs, and neither of you care about my Rights as an individual - I'm beset on both sides by tyrannical would be slave masters. Both sides think their proposals are what's needed in order for the country to "survive", bans on firearms and bans on gay marriage, you both claim to have some authority, some Right, to initiate the use of force against others because the "survival" of the country is at stake.
But it does have relevance to our conversation as a whole. Here's the first line of her quote:

You seem to hold that very opinion, that it's morally acceptable to do anything you think is necessary for the "survival" of the country, for the "greater good" of the collective. Your trolley example shows that you are willing to excuse, on supposed moral grounds, the act of murdering an innocent person. Anyone who could claim to justify murder on moral grounds would have no ethical or moral dilemmas about using force, coercion, or slavery to achieve a "greater" good.

It seems that you are agreeing that you decided to take my quote out of context so you could quote Rand. That to me is a peculiar definition of a statistism. If I were really a statist as you think I am, I certainly don't agree with that definition.
I did not say anything about moral acceptability. I only posed what I think is the clan instincts of man, which hold the clan together.
What on earth are you talking about in the "trolley problem"? I only cited what somebody else posed as a morally ambiguous scenario that depends on the ethos. I took no stance on the dilemma. Now you are saying I am justifying murder.
I think you are so much in bed with Ayn Rand, that you can't understand what others are saying or thinking. You keep interpreting others in terms of your obsession.
