Less than 2% of all Americans owned slaves in the 19th century and the overwhelming majority of honorable Christians opposed slavery with so many thousands of American Christians dying in battle to abolish it in the US.

Christ also taught us to “. . . be on your guard against avarice of any kind, for a man’s life is not made secure by what he owns, even when he has more than he needs.” (Luke 12:15-18)

Christ’s message certainly seems to conflict with Adam Smith’s belief that striving for personal gain is a natural human trait that should be given almost free rein in society.

Leftist racist morons forget about the hundreds of thousands of Christians who opposed slavery and supported Lincoln in the Civil War to end slavery. Rather than show any appreciation whatsoever for those large masses of Christians who worked together to end slavery they condemn all white Christians as though all white Christians were like the fake Southern Democrat Christians who fought like hell to protect the ungodly practice of human slavery. So why did Christians free slaves if the offspring of slaves were just going to slander and hate them for it? Christians would do it again in spite of the unjust hostility they received from those who should have been grateful.

Only 2% of Americans owned slaves, and some of them were black. Just because some or many of the slave owners were rich white Democrats who claimed to be Christian does not mean that God or faithful Christians supported slavery like the bad Christians did.
