Why do christians just ignore so much of the problems of biblical 'truth'?

I wonder what went wrong with people such that they will put so much of their life into something that is supported by one incredibly flakey book

Just the fact that the bible says people lived to be 800 should make a rational human being discard it asa book of fantasy

And it is full of similarly ludicrous claims

And christians just carry on believeing and stating that they do because the bible says so

I guess the key word is 'rational' and you have to conclude that adults who believe that magic happened because one book says it did are not rational.

Christians would take a similar view of any who claimed that magic happens and cites Harry Potter as evidence

But in essence believing that magic happened because the bible says so is just as deranged

But you believe that people lived to be 800 years old with no evidence and with the knowledge that such a thing is not possible

Which pretty much shows that you are a lunatic

How many days in a year were there back then? Was a year measured in days, or months, or moons?

Ahhh, so you are saying you can't trust the words used in the bible?

At last we are getting somewhere

So when the bible describes a lifespan as three score years and ten I guess that must mean about 5 minutes if 800 years is around 70 of our years?

God isn't a very good liar is he?

But then he doesn't need to be

His followers are imbeciles

Hey gbfan, are you nearer to 800 years of age or three score years and ten?

Weird how the bible talks about lifespan as being 70 years and also goes on about people living to be nearly a thousand

Why, anyone would think it a collection of fictional works that are full of inconsistencies and lies that only a moron would believe

But I swear evry animal on earth got on a wooden boat build by Noah with no ship building experiance...all the food they need for a year...And if you think about it....all plant life that does not live in the ocean...since the flood would have killed all trees and plants on land..

Also stories like the walls Of Jerico...studies show the city of Jerico had been gone for sometime when the bible says its story...Hard to know down a wall and kill evryone in a city by walking around the walls and blowing a horn...when the walls fell long before and there was no city left already. ( it was nice that God just ordered all men woman and children in the city killed though for realy no reason, aside from one. if it was in the Koran it would be quoted is proof they where violent.

Methuselah was the age of 969 when he died, the longest living man recorded. his name means when he is dead it shall be sent, it shows the mercy and longsuffering of God
Genesis 6: 11The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. 12And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.

It was after God Flooded the earth saving only Noah and his family that the age of people decreased. Its all in the Bible

Genesis 9: 28And Noah lived after the flood three hundred and fifty years. 29And all the days of Noah were nine hundred and fifty years: and he died
