you mean the same taxes he talked about all threw the election, but the right called socialism and crap? And no I am not sure I agree with them, as with the bail outs , Iraq, and alreayd huge debt I dont know how much more debt we can pay for.
Isn't it funny how quickly the left deflects the issue? You talk about having a reasonable debate of issues, but when one brings up those issues, you instantly attack them for unrelated claims about past discussions.
I can only speak for myself, and the posts I've read here. I have not, nor have I ever read a claim, that tax cuts were socialist. In fact, logically it's impossible for a tax cut (allowing the people who rightfully earned the money, to keep it) to be 'socialist' (under the control of a government).
The claims about Obama being socialist, had to do with socialist policies. This is not a socialist policy.
Question for you:
Is it possible for a politician to be in favor of more regulations, more government control, more government programs, more nationalized corporations, more bailouts and so on, and at the same time pass a tax cut?
I suggest the answer is yes. Does that make the tax cut socialist? No. Does that make the control, regulations, and government take-overs, capitalist? No.
So is it possible for someone (like me) to accuse him of being socialist on a dozen or so issues, and at the same time, praise a capitalist tax cut? Yes.
But none of that was the main point. The main point was the left-ist idiots on this forum screaming and wailing about how Bush passed a tax cut, in a time of war, while increasing deficit spending. Now Obama's openly stated plan is to do the exact same thing. Will those of the democrat party stay true to their convictions and attack Obama for his policy, that they prior hated?
Or will they be the typical hypocrits they have always been for the past 15 years I've been paying attention to politics, and come up with lame excuses about how someone somewhere said Obama was a socialist, as if it mattered?
I think this thread proves my point.
