My dad has seen a lot of senior citizens and people who have been laid-off having to recycle scrap metal and aluminum cans just to be able to survive. They need the recycling money to be able to make it. It's great that these people are recycling but it shouldn't be because it's the only way for them to survive.

I can tell you in two words why they're struggling. George Bush. Bush caused this recession and people all over the country are feeling the pain because of it. Bush has been unsuccessful at ending this recession and I doubt that John McCain can be successful at ending it either. I decided to vote early and I voted for all democrats.

We have "travellers" stealing the lead off of church roofs and ripping wiring out of houses whose owners have gone out for the day etc. etc.

Reach into your own pockets and give these people jobs Mr. Compassion... YOU hire them, YOU take care of them, YOU take some freakin responsibility rather than scapegoating Bush with the weak accusation of "Bush did it".

I can give you ONE word as to why they are struggling: SOCIALISM

The anti-capitalist socialists LOVE to raise taxes on business and regulate them out of a profit, forcing them overseas or out of business... and whats your answer? MORE SOCIALIST POLITICIANS!!!

My suggestion to everyone, read the constitution, read what our founders said about the founding principles of this nation and how to achieve greatness.... Here's a hint... They were against "Spreading the wealth" and understood that was a recipe for DISASTER.

.........Interesting......or it could be you're struggling because other countries make things better and cheaper than the US and aren't up to their necks in debt! I think its called an economic cycle?

........the founders would be hard pressed to understand the concepts of credit default swaps and international liquidity restrictions.....but I guess if you wanted to understand animal husbandy then thats the place to look since they were mostly farmers back them olden golden times......you could also get out "Basket Weaving for Beginners" and kick start the economy from the beginning.......... with bartering, swap you a loaf for a sack of beans?

I think the worlds problems are bit more complext then shouting SOCIALISM all the time

I see... so they can blame Capitlism ALL THE TIME and I should STFU and not correct them... Thanks for letting me know.

As for the Constitution being "outdated"... I wasn't aware that Freedom and Individual Liberty were out of style.... Good thing you said something, Now I can vote for Obama.

Why can other countries make things cheaper? I'll give you one reason: Taxes

Why is my nation up to our necks in DEBT? Socialist Policies... Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, Welfare, and all kinds of other SOCIAL programs that have run up the tab.

While simply yelling Socialism may not fix anything.... People need to understand that Socialist policies and programs are at the heart of our downfall.... Then maybe, once people reject Socialism, we can fix things.

Your reply makes no sense, please explain how a Ron Paul (Republican) article in support of Capitalism, published in 2002, has ANYTHING to do with an Obama administration?

So please, tell me, what do Dr. Ron Paul and Obama (Sen. Government) have to do with each other? ...They are on OPPOSITE ends of the political spectrum.

...........You're welcome:D But seriously the problems within the US economy are a tad more deep seated than just hollaring socialism versus capitalism all the time.

......vote for whomever you like personaly I think Obama is as vacuous as McCain and come voting day you'd all be better off staying at home.
