New York, Massachusetts high courts upheld blasphemy convictions
Two famous 19th-century cases epitomized the lingering remnants of blasphemy laws. In People v. Ruggles (N.Y. 1811), a New York court upheld the conviction of a man who referred to Jesus and his mother in unflattering terms. Even though New York no longer had a statute on the subject, the court’s chief judge, James Kent, ruled that the offense of blasphemy violated the state’s common law as carried over from England (but Kent believed that the state laws prohibited blasphemy only against the Christian religion).

Reynolds, was fined for publishing a pamphlet entitled “Blasphemy and the Bible” outlining his religious view as well as a satirical cartoon entitled “Casting pearls before swine.” Robert Ingersoll, a leading attorney and freethinker of the time, defended Reynolds, arguing that the laws were an outdated remnant of an ignorant and intolerant past and enslaved the human minds. The jury, however, upheld the conviction.

There is a linear relationship between education level and prosperity in any group, district or country. Supposedly, Islam limits women's level to negligible levels by most standards. Evidently, the old chauvinist pig philosophy, "Keep them dumb, pregnant & in the kitchen" was stolen from the Middle East. At the same time, the number of school hours devoted to subjects other than religion Muslim men receive is also pivotal. GIGO. Undereducated people can be led, or herded into believing anything they're told. They can be told what to want, expect, do, think, and when to go to war when they get restless. War keeps the population focused, -and tolerant of bad treatment at home.
Adam Smith knew that The Wealth Of Nations was invested in the whole people having the ability to own property and support themselves, and the surpluses that result from that formula allow a whole nation to prosper. Not even the King can tax poverty, or his own lands. Hong Kong was the financial gem of the world that proved that, left to their own devices, people would find productive ways to prosper, -even in the absence of open land to farm, which would probably surprise even Adam. To the same extent that these two factoids are operative today, nothing good can come from a city/state ruled by Islam as it is being foisted upon the believers by Muslim dominated governments. Iran is an example: higher educated populations resist the party line. So, just kill a few more, more often? Even the currently rich Muslim states know they must plan for the day the oil runs out and they can’t simply pay the people into quiescence.
These same Muslims prosper when left to their own devices in places where Muslims are not dominant in government. The limitations are not the fault of Islam; it's the fault of evil men misinterpreting The Koran.
