Jesus did not claim to be God. He only said that some people had said that he had claimed to be God. NOT the same thing. In layman's terms, if a sinner refuses to believe Jesus is God, then that sinner will die in his sins.
John 8:24
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.
God is allegedly omniscient: he knows everything, including the future.
When Jesus was asked when he would return, he said that "only the Father knows that".
Which is a clear admission that Jesus was NOT as powerful as God, since God knows the actual future, but Jesus only had vague notion of when he would return. He said that he would return before some of those listening to him would "taste death".
But there are no 2000 year old apostles about, and Jesus was WRONG about his return and also wrong about how "God" would wipe out all injustice and replace all the world's rulers a King of King, Lord of Lords. Jesus was a monarchist, obviously.
