Robin Hood benefited me in a small way only once. I owned a small number of shares in KOSS, a small company that made stereo headsets. It made a fair profit until the CFO absconded with millions. After that, it was priced so low it wasn't worth selling. Then someone at Robin Hood did some sort of buying frenzy of KOSS and I was able to sell out and make nearly $200.
