It looked, more, like there was an actual time, in this Country, when people must have actually minded their own fuckin' business....more-than-likely when a significant portion of our population was newly-arrived immigrants....who'd already escaped from actual problems, back home....and, had no time for searching-out opportunities to judge other people....while they were (already) pursuing lives o' their own.

I'm guessing a lot-o'-them (also) had a gut-full o' the needy clerics they left-behind, as well.
