President Clinton spent millions over an eight year period trying to address the issues of poverty, etc. and we are no better off. In his first year in office President Obama spend more than P Clinton did total and we are also no better off.

I guess throwing huge sums of money at the problems either all at once or over a long period of time will not solve those problems. In fact we have spent so much money since welfare programs have begun that every one of the poor could be a millionaire if we had just written them a check.

Maybe those welfare programs were not really intended to solve the problem? We have the choice of believing that the government is incompetently incapable of solving the problem or unwilling.

What would happen if the government stopped trying to do what it cannot or will not and instead tried to do what it is supposed to do - namely stop the violation of rights through the justice system? Then no people would be held back through violations of their rights and all could succeed much more than at present.

Actually the President doesn't make that much money considering his station.

When Washington was negotiating to remain in the service of the country, he said that he would be paid as President to the sum of $25,000. In terms of money today, that's a million dollars or so.

We pay our President's a paltry sum today.

AND!! Since REAGAN , all others has deserved a very small wage!! MR.REAGAN deserved MILLIONS , HE CREATED 45 million jobs , enough jobs to allow Clinton to spend his time in our OVAL OFFICE creating his SPECIAL class of a "JOB" ! lol,lol
