Church was a Democratic Senator from Idaho, which sounds like a contradiction in terms now (what our dumbed-down college graduates mistakenly call an "oxymoron.")

Irrespective of what you allude to re: Ollie, 9/11 and Vietnam, I believe Church spelled out the risks pretty well of unrestricted electronic eavesdropping conducted by people with low or no moral character and/or those who don't love America.
