The truth probably won't matter to a pot head but, here is some food for thought:

THC Builds Up in the Body, Influencing Inflammation and Immunity

Unlike Alcohol and/or caffeine, Terrahydrocannabinol (THC) the primary psychoactive compound found in cannabis doesn't clear from the bloodstream in a few hours; it accumulates in fat and organs where it can continue to influence inflammation and immunity long after the high fades. THC behaves unlike most substances the body encounters. Many drugs are processed and eliminated from the body within hours. THC takes a totally different path. After inhalation or digestion, THC enters the bloodstream quickly and then is distributed to the organs. Regular cannabis use results in an accumulation of Lipophilic substances in fat stores and highly vascularized organs such as the brain and liver. These substances are released into the bloodstream very slowly, even when standard screening tests are negative.

In other words, standard drug tests measure THC metabolites in blood or urine not what remains stored in tissues. A negative test does not mean that the substance or its effects are gone.
