Two polls just out both show Obama leading comfortably in the upcoming (5-20) Ore. primary.

SUSA has it:

Obama-54%
Clinton-43%

Portland Trib/KPTV shows:

Obama-55%
Clinton-35%

"Barring a disaster, Barack Obama's going to win Oregon, and he may win it very big"

This is hardly surprising as living in the Pacific NW myself I know it to be populated by educated open minded individuals.

One more just out, PPP gives Obama a nice healthy lead over Clinton in Ore. at 53%-39%.

Though it's actually already over, several sources have said Obama plans to declare victory in the fight for the nomination on the 20th.

GOBAMA!

I live in Oregon, and have most all of my life. This state is so full of communists, socialists and worse that there is no doubt Obama will win and win big.

The ONLY part of Oregon that is even moderate is Eastern Oregon. They are trying to make their own state and I dont blame them.

I have to spend all my spare time putting a big fat red S over the B on the signs that are on every street corner. I can't wait till November! I am running out of sharpies!@

Washington is the same way, educated, open minded, generally progressive in the west, rednecks in the eastern part of the state. Of course, the NW rednecks always vote Republican.

Yes this is true. Eastern Washington and Eastern Oregon should become one state instead of letting Western Washington and Western Oregon (the more populated) decide for them how they should live in a farming area. Western Oregon has ruined life in the Eastern part of the state. But what do they care; they don’t live there and have probably never met a “red neck” wheat or pea farmer.

Unfortunately for Obama America is full of what you call red necks. Unfortunately for America the world is full of elitist city folk who have no clue.

Here's a couple definitions for the word redneck. I think you'll find them most descriptive of not only many residents in eastern Wa. and Ore., but of a great deal of Republican voters. A shame really, but those rednecks, defined so accurately below, have become a key Republican constituency.

1. A white person regarded as having a provincial, conservative, often bigoted attitude.

2. a bigot or reactionary, esp. from the rural working class.

Now I don't want to tar everyone who lives in the eastern part of the NW with such a broad brush. I mean, there are some good people, not everyone wants to circumvent environmental and immigration law in pursuit of their own interests.

You forgot religious.

I must be a red neck, I am conservative and religious. I would not call my self a bigot (though you might). I don't really care what other people do as long as they do not hurt others. But I do draw the line when it is shoved down my personal throat or the throat of my children.

It is odd how I came out like I did really.

I grew up with Atheist parents
Strong Democrat family
Idolized Jimmy Carter most of my life.
My family is strong Union members and I am a union member (disgruntled though)
Minority 2 types
Poor or lower class
Live in a city absolutely full of liberals and was educated by extreme liberals from kindergarten to my second year of college.

Your parents sound like they have good heads on their shoulders. Are they from the Lane Co. area as well? Whatever the case, Eugene is one of the few areas that I have considered moving to in the past. It's progressiveness is to be admired, perhaps you should make an effort to let some rub off on you. It could do you a world of good, optimism would replace pessimism, an open mind would replace a closed mind, the possibilities are endless.

I used to be such a die hard liberal. I could never go back. But there are some things about liberalism that I would agree with. Helping the down and out with a hand up, but not just a hand out. Medical care for kids, Re education for displaced timber/mill workers.

But in general for all of the good intentions of liberalism it always seems to fail. Good intentions are not enough; it has to be actually work able. In to many cases it’s a great and caring idea, but falls flat in the end. I figured out about 7 years ago that the government can not answer all my problems, now I see it very different. I want the government to get the hell out of my way and let me succeed on my own merit.

My mom may seem all that to you but she is still waiting after all these years for the government to fix her problems. I think I can do better for myself than the government can do for me.

I am not a HE I am a SHE
and I loathe The huckabump more than I loathe McCain and I loathe McCain A LOT!

I dont agree with most of his politics, but I found him entertaining otherwise. I refer to him as Bill Clinton's slightly right winged cousin.
McCain would be wise to bring him in as VP in all seriousness.

ahh ok the huckster as VP. sorry I am very short and it all went over my head :)

I will NEVER vote for the huckabump and the ONLY way I will vote for McCain is if he gets a DECENT running mate and then hopefully dies soon after taking office.

I like Romney and he would be willing to run

I like Condalizza and she would be willing to run

I like Thompson but he would not run with the liberal McCain
