Biden doubled the Snap funding in 2022 from $60 billion to $119.5 billion, adding 5.5 million more Americans to the 41 million already receiving the benefits. Sadly, no reasonable oversight policies were added to manage the disbursements of the funds which resulted in overpayments skyrocketing from $3.4 billion in 2019 to $11.2 billion in 2022. Current estates indicate that there is more than $30 billion in yearly fraud in the Snap program. That is a lot of wealth redistribution or reparations payments depending on a person's perspective. Nevertheless, only a handful of unworthy crooks are actually getting the stolen cash while millions of others, including millions of poor Americans, are suffering loss.
