Jesus never once uttered the word "Christian".Jesus said not many people claiming to be Christians are really Christians. In fact, He said very few religious people really know God.
Jesus' main message was that very, very soon, God was going to take over the world and drive out all but the true believers. His beliefs and teachings were rather close to those of the Essenes, who authored the Dead Sea Scrolls.
He regarded himself to be a teacher of proper Jewish practices. He mostly limited himself to preaching to Jews: he told his disciples to avoid pagan communities.
As every student of history knows, there was no apocalypse, God did not take over at all, and when the Jews led by a more popular and effective leader, Shimon Bar Kochba in the first century AD managed to drive out the Romans, they only managed to rule for a short period between 130 and 135 CE, and in the latter year the Romans returned with huge army, defeated Bar Kochba, destroyed the Second Temple and the entire city of Jerusalem.
