You mention KKK lynchings. After the South lost the war the democrat party invented the KKK to resist republican efforts to integrate blacks into society. Such democrat resistance lasted nearly 100 years as we saw when Eisenhower had to send 101st Airborne troops to Little Rock in 1957 to force democrats to allow blacks to enroll in high school there.
