1. President Donald Trump on Thursday said Russia’s failure to forcibly seize and occupy the entirety of Ukraine’s territory amounts to a “pretty big concession” to Kyiv...

Speaking in the Oval Office during a bilateral meeting with Norwegian prime minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Trump insisted to reporters that he is putting pressure on Russian president Vladimir Putin behind the scenes as reporters asked him what he would ask the Russian leader to give up to match the massive territorial concessions he has asked Ukraine to make as a way to find an end to Europe’s bloodiest conflict since the end of the Second World War.

Trump replied: “Stopping the war, stopping [from] taking the whole country.”

He added that not seizing all of Ukraine’s sovereign land — the goal Putin had laid out when he launched the war in February 2022 and which was foiled by Ukraine’s military resistance — was a “pretty big concession” in his view.

Trump’s bizarre and nonsensical comment glossed over the fact that Putin had always wanted to occupy and control Ukraine’s land and erase it from the map as an independent nation, thereby reassembling a large portion of the former Soviet Union and Russian empire. The reason Russia has not succeeded in that aim isn’t because Moscow has magnanimously declined to carry out an occupation, but because Ukrainian forces have kept Russian troops from advancing through most of the country....

Let me again use the "crocodile analogy" in which a ferocious crocodile dragged a man by the leg into a river while his "best" friend stood and watched with folded arms.

Shedding crocodile tears at the sight of the victim's gruesome head in the coffin, his "best" friend delivered the eulogy at the funeral: "Friends, fellow earthlings, countrymen, lend me your ears; I come to bury my dearest friend, not to praise him. He should consider himself as very lucky because the hungry crocodile has made 'pretty big concession' by not eating up the whole of him, otherwise he would be left with nothing for me to bury." 😭

Reality is a bitch. If he was (as Trump says) giving a pretty big concession, it must be duly noted how much has actually been conceeded.

Russia has suffered significant losses in personnel and military equipment since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, though exact figures vary between sources.

Military Casualties

Estimates for Russian military casualties (killed and wounded) vary, but most sources indicate hundreds of thousands.
  • Over 1 million killed or wounded: According to a June 2025 estimate by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the UK Ministry of Defense, total Russian casualties (killed and injured) could exceed 1 million.
  • Around 300,000 deaths/injuries: An August 2023 U.S. intelligence estimate cited approximately 120,000 Russian deaths and 170,000-180,000 injured troops.
  • Verified deaths: Independent Russian media groups, Mediazona and the BBC Russian Service, using verified names from public records, estimated 239,000–345,260 Russian combat deaths by mid-December 2025; this is a more conservative estimate that accounts for a portion of the total likely death toll.

Equipment Losses

Open-source intelligence trackers like Oryx have visually verified extensive equipment losses for Russia. As of late 2025, these losses included:
  • Tanks and Armored Vehicles: Over 4,000 main battle tanks (MBTs) and nearly 9,000 armored fighting vehicles (AFVs) have been documented as lost (destroyed, damaged, abandoned, or captured). This represents between 121-143% of Russia's pre-war operational tank force inventory.
  • Naval Vessels and Aircraft: Russia has also lost numerous aircraft, helicopters, and naval vessels, including at least two submarines.
  • Total Equipment: Ukraine's Ministry of Defense claims a total of over 23,000 lost military vehicles and equipment pieces, including over 11,000 tanks and 35,000 artillery systems.

Territorial and Economic Impact
  • Territory: As of December 2025, Russian forces occupied approximately 19% of Ukrainian territory.
  • Economy & Population: Russia's economy has been impacted by sanctions, although high oil and gas exports have counterbalanced some losses. An estimated 800,000 Russians have left the country for economic or political reasons since the war began.
  • Russia has incurred immense losses in the Ukraine war, with estimates suggesting over $200 billion in direct military spending, potential GDP losses of over $1 trillion, hundreds of billions in frozen assets and lost trade.

Might as well be saying Russia's Orthodox Church concessions to Kyiv is as Catholic Church Papal Cabal concessions to the USA for SCOTUS Rehnquist "what is 9/11 ?" crusade rhetorical Freudian slip for over 25 years........

So here's Christian Nation SCOTUS "what is 9/11 ?" rhetorical Freudian slip patriot act of Federal Lynching Klues Klucks duh Klans churchstate of drug trafficking fiefdom Catholic Church not so master race not so master plan where fixing elections grants Christiananality pedophilia extermination of World Trade Center & Pentagon employees........

War is hell. We wonder if war could have been averted at the outset if Obama had only stood up to Russia in support of the Budapest memorandum commitment to defend Ukraine from attacks signed by Bill Clinton in exchange for Ukraine's giving up its defensive weapons.
There is NO VALID REASON for Russia to invade Ukraine, and it is VERY UNLIKELY that Putin would have refrained from invading Ukraine is Shitshizpants had been president. He did not invade sooner because hi army was not ready. It is obvious that Putin thinks Trump is an incompetent old blowhard.

Looks like Russia's Orthodox Church has rootin' tootin' Putin preying on Ukraine as the USA Catholic Church has had Florida's "death to the infidels" preying on the USA for the past 25 years........

On the night of December 23, Russian forces carried out a massive combined strike on Ukraine's critical infrastructure, using missiles and hundreds of attack drones, reports the Air Force.
In total, 673 aerial attack means were recorded:

635 attack drones of the Shahed and Gerbera types (and other drones) launched from Kursk, Oryol, Millerovo, Bryansk, Primorsko-Akhtarsk in Russia, as well as Chauda Cape and Crimea (around 400 of them were Shaheds);
  • 3 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles (launch areas – Ryazan region, Russia);
  • 35 cruise missiles Kh-101 and Iskander-K (launch areas – Vologda and Kursk regions, Russia).
Ukraine's air defense forces, electronic warfare units, mobile fire groups, and drone units were involved in repelling the attack.
Preliminary data as of 11:30 AM local time shows that air defense destroyed or suppressed 621 aerial targets, including 587 attack drones and 34 cruise missiles.

It seems inescapable that Putin must have believed that Obama did not have the strength of character to honor the US commitment to Ukraine in the Budapest Memorandum.

Is that why Obama stiffed Ukraine by refusing to honor the Budapest Memorandum when Russia invaded Ukraine?
I am confused. Is Obama the president right now? Can he do or affect any action this government does or doesn't do?

why bring a past president into the conversation? Should be talk about the negatives of every president that ever ran this country?

because he is a cold fact on the last 8 presidents that we can bring into the conversation, if that is what you want to do!

I did not bring up Obama's name. I simply responded to a poster who did. Democrats have a long history of seeking indictments against their opponents whether for serious crimes, minor crimes, or non-existent crimes. For example, Fanni Willis brought charges against Trump and other republicans for claiming Georgia election officials committing fraud in 2020, and yet today we see the democrat elections officials in Georgia have now been forced to admit they did commit election fraud in 2020.
