You clearly do not understand what God said to ancient Jews or why.
It is quite clear what the Bible says about this. The women of conquered tribes were adopted by the Hebrews so they could increase their numbers. Women were regarded as baby making machines, their beliefs and religions were unimportant to their use in increasing the numbers of the conquering Hebrews.
There is nothing even remotely mysterious about what was done and why. It could not be more obvious.
Of course, the decision to kill the enemy men and adopt the women was made by the patriarchs for a very obvious purpose and then, when some scribe decided to write it down, he added that it was done as a result of some divine edict.
