I do support voluntary servitude of some kind as a measure for debt relief but there are too many differing aspects of debt relief involving servitude for me to make a blanket statement of support for all.

It is quite clear what the Bible says about this. The women of conquered tribes were adopted by the Hebrews so they could increase their numbers. Women were regarded as baby making machines, their beliefs and religions were unimportant to their use in increasing the numbers of the conquering Hebrews.

There is nothing even remotely mysterious about what was done and why. It could not be more obvious.

Of course, the decision to kill the enemy men and adopt the women was made by the patriarchs for a very obvious purpose and then, when some scribe decided to write it down, he added that it was done as a result of some divine edict.

The whole point here is god doesn't exist. They read the Bible and interpret it how they please. You do it every day.
People commit vicious crimes in the name of god.
Slaves were executed by white Christians after they read to Bible to the victim and said it was the word of god. That justified the killing. Why is it not done today? Because we have civil laws not gods law.
