America the Gutless

So why did the US not allow the UN to finish their inspection?

Clue - because it would result in the wrong answer
Or because there were 12 Security Council resolutions calling for action, and that Saddam threw out inspectors before letting them back in.

Add that to the fact that best intel we have says they have the program (along with numerous other intel groups) the best decision with that information is to go.
Yeah.....until you talk to an actual-Inspector!!!

If Saddam had disarmed his entire WMD program, and sold off all his Uranium, and shown all the evidence of this to the UN inspectors as planned, we would have even thought to deal with him in '94 '98 '01 and '03.

The only thing that stinks is the lack of evidence and illogical conclusion you came up with.
Evidence is pretty-important, to you, huh? :rolleyes:

"Around this time it emerged that CIA spies operating with arms inspectors had used information gathered to target Iraq during Desert Fox. The role of the CIA in corrupting the arms inspection regime was one of the main reasons for Ritter's resignation in 1998.

The basic conclusions are clear: Iraq cooperated in the "fundamental disarmament" of 90-95% of its weapons of mass destruction. The United States nevertheless manufactured a conflict for cynical reasons in December 1998. Inspectors were then not kicked out, as claimed, but were withdrawn by Butler to protect them from bombing. The Iraqis subsequently refused to allow arms inspectors - accurately described by them as "spies" who had participated in the bombing of their country - to return."

Do people like Andy and Mr Carpenter live in some parallel universe where the world saw that Bush and his cronies rightfully attacked Iraq because they really did have WMD?

It is a little embarrassing reading their posts that contradict facts that are obvious to even the hawks.

How do you KNOW there were no WMDs?
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh...... :rolleyes:

The Downing Street Minutes are short, to the point, and shocking. They make clear that:

1. Bush had already decided to go to war long before approaching Congress or the public or the UN about it, and had already started the attack with increased bombings;

2. Bush had already decided to lie about weapons of mass destruction and ties to 9-11;

3. The Brits were concerned by the illegality of an aggressive war, but the Bush Administration was not;

4. Going to the UN was an attempt to justify the war, and the hope was to craft an ultimatum that Saddam Hussein would reject;

5. The focus of the Bush and Blair administrations was on selling the war to the public, and not at all on trying to avoid it;

6. The Bush and Blair administrations were aware that Iraq was no threat, and were willing to attack Iraq precisely because it posed no serious threat of fighting back.

Yeah.....Lil' Dumbya thought long-and-hard about invading Iraq. :rolleyes:

Quoting Scott Ritter? Are you completely mental? He's been so completely discredited that it's not even funny!
Yeah.....what's he know-about-it, huh? :rolleyes:

"Ritter has had an extensive and distinguished career in government service. He is a ballistic missile technology expert who worked in military intelligence during a 12-year career in the U.S. armed forces, including assignments in the former Soviet Union and the Middle East. A former major in the U.S. Marines, Ritter also spent several months of the Gulf War serving under General Norman Schwarzkopf at Marine Central Command headquarters in Saudi Arabia."

<Game Over>
