Words That Should Be Banned

I guess I'll have to take the Jonathan Edwards then. From your description he sounds like a cross between Cotton Mather and Gallagher. Should I have plastic sheeting at the ready?

btw, one more word we should just get rid of right now..."decimated". Almost no one uses this word correctly. I fear that it will become one of those words that has the definition changed due to persistent public ignorance. Seriously, it has "deci" right in there, the first four letters. How ignorant do you have to be to not even be able to guess what it means?

Agreed.

Also--for God's sake--let's bury the word "unprecedented".
Obama--and his "familiars"--has used that word--at my last count--483,657 times.

I can't tell if we're talking about words that should be banned or simply words that are horribly misused... If it's the latter, Capitalism and Free Markets. While I expect Anti-Capitalists to misuse those terms to create strawmen arguments in support of their EU-topian Socialism, even the "defenders" of Capitalism and Free Markets misuse the words. For example, Romney in the debate said something about how "Free" markets needed regulation... That's almost as absurd as GW declaring that he had to abandon the "Free" market in order to save it. With "defenders" such as these, who needs enemies?

"Fair share"
when it's used to describe someone paying for far more than he receives.

OK, that was two words. So sue me. :p

That's a good pair--inextricably connected in today's world.
I wish Hollywood actors--all rabid democrats--were paid under that SAME concept.

But--as liberals always babble out--"Well--THAT'S different!!"
