I am surprised this was not posted earlier...

The White House has now granted waivers to 111 companies from the Obama Healthcare Reform. Since this law was supposed to put everyone on a level playing field and cut costs, then why has the White House had to grant waivers to 111 companies because rising costs would force them to drop their employee coverage?

A list of companies who have gotten an exemption are listed here.

What a joke Obummercare is. This is just another example of ridiculousness.

If the Rs do anything, they must dump Obummercare.

It is a perfect example of the horrendous consequences of liberalism.

To dump statist obamcare always required conservatives win two battles - the first against the leftwing extremists, and the second against the RINOs. The tea party needs to start grass roots efforts in the key RINO congressional districts to get them on track.

Maybe, but maybe not. My thought here is many liberal Rs know they can't keep their cushy jobs if they vote to keep Obummercare. Also, I would hope there are members of the Communist Party (AKA Dems) who know this as well. So, if the R leadership in Congress can gather enough votes to dump Obummercare and maybe even enough to overturn a veto from BO, then this communist nightmare will end.

How about this idea?

With the Rs now in control of the House and close in the Senate, they should just give waivers to all employers who ask for the waiver. Would this not completely undermine the socialistic disaster that is Obamacare?

This from the great and beautiful Michelle Malkin....SUCKERS!!!!

Dude, Where's My Obamacare Waiver?

More than one million Americans have escaped the clutches of the Democrats' destructive federal health care law. Lucky them. Their employers and labor representatives wisely applied for Obamacare waivers earlier this fall and got out while the getting was good. Now, it's time for Congress to create a permanent escape hatch for the rest of us. Repeal is the ultimate waiver.

Other unions who won protection from Obamacare:

-- United Food and Commercial Workers Allied Trade Health and Welfare Trust Fund

-- International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union No. 915

-- Asbestos Workers Local 53 Welfare Fund

-- Employees Security Fund

-- Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 123 Welfare Fund

-- United Food and Commercial Workers Local 227

-- United Food and Commercial Workers Local 455 (Maximus)

-- United Food and Commercial Workers Local 1262

-- Musicians Health Fund Local 802

-- Hospitality Benefit Fund Local 17

-- Transport Workers Union

-- United Federation of Teachers Welfare Fund

-- International Union of Painters and Allied Trades (AFL-CIO)

-- Plus two organizations that appear to be chapters of the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA)

I am pretty sure for Congress to "grant" waivers, they would need to pass another law (which would have to pass both chambers). That still seems unlikely in the Senate.

Outside of that prospect, Congress cannot grant waivers (unless I am reading something wrong.)

The current waivers were granted by the White House, not Congress.

Yes, of course you are correct.

So lets see, if Congress floods the Executive Branch with waiver requests, that might create enough chaos to de-legitimize Obummercare.

Turns out a large portion of those exemptions were given to high end restaurants and spa's in Nancy Pelosi's district.

Waivers are allegedly given out based on how hard it will be to implement the system.

But a large restaurant chain was given a waiver because it plans to reduce the calorie count on its menu by 20% over the next ten years -part of M. Obama's war on the obese.

Meanwhile they could have reduced the calorie count on their menu by 20% tomorrow and increased profits by putting 20% of the calories on a separate plate or glass, reducing the cost of the entre by 19% and charging the 20% for the separate plate or glass.
