I've read the story and there is one clear difference...Edwards isn't running for anything. Had Edwards secured the nomination it would have the same relevance as McCain's infidelity but since he didn't it's of little or no consequence except to his family.

That is proving to me what I had said.

If a republican does it the republican voters shun it, if a dem does it the dem voters excuse it.

He has twice run for president with your party. Was talked about being a vp for Obama or at least a cab. lev. pos.

You have been critical of any repub, if they are running for something or not, if they are sitting in the position or not, if they are retired....

but here was a good chance to say what Edwards did was sleazy and maybe its good that he did not get the nom. but instead you made an excuse for him.

that is typical dem way of doing things.

What he did sucked, for his family, the poor kid he denied was his but now admits is his.

He's not running for reelection, and he's got a court date, and possibly forced to resign. The key of course is, even if he did run again, we wouldn't vote for him.

Mark Foley resigned. I wager under pressure too.
Larry Craig has submitted his resignation.

In both cases, the majority of Republicans support both of these characters being removed. That's who I'm talking about, the base, the grass roots people. Although I'm not a Repug, if you talk to the Republicans here, they support people like these being removed or stepping down.

Now, on the other hand, look at Bill Clinton, Ted Kennedy, Hillary Clinton, or Barney Frank. All of whom have done some incredible stuff, and yet their political base would have no problem with them murdering and still get re-elected. That's a short list too.

I like how the leader in the Bill Bashing was Newt...who was Cheating at the time ( and not just a BJ)

If the Dem attacked gay rights and tried to attack the gay lifestyle as well all the time, then no, its not differnt. If they are pro gay rights and don't bash then, and end up gay I dont realy care.
