You forgot to add that it's been a Republican regime that has allowed Osama to run so free and easy these past 6 years. Why?, because we've been occupied in a Republican war in Iraq.

Popeye, I agree with you 200%, and the Republicians won't
admit that they're the biggest part of the Iraqi problem.
As you noticed a whole page was taken up talking about the
Democrats, but nothing was mentioned about the Republican regime.

I don't support Osama in no kinda way, but I must agree with him
talking about the Republicans and the Democrats, and for these
last few months for Bush to be in Power....watch out.

The News section does this sometimes. We had a problem a few months ago with a thread in the News section that wasn't allowing the Edit feature. I think you can still put a request in to one of the mods for them to change something if it's really bugging you.

The writer of this speech for Osama Bin Laden was Adam Gadahn ("Azzam The American"), a 28 year old american (who also of note, is the first to be charged with treason in absentia since the 50s) His writing is heavy with anti-globalization and other far far left ideologies, so this is typical of him.

I think it's important to agree that both extremes are unacceptable and neither the Right or the Left are representative of far out world extremes.

Don't even bother. The vast majority of people I've met who talk about "fascism" can't draw a distinction between it and Nazism. Before long you'll get sick of educating the masses.

Add to that, the expanding of the term terrorists to include so called domestic terrorists means all of the above can be applied to U.S. citizens. Bush has aggressively worked to create a consolidation of power in the Executive Branch with only one example being the taking the court system out of the equation with the Patriot Act. You also have his obvious nationalism and thinly veiled dislike for Muslims and any country that is not in complete lock step with American policy. You have of course not full fascism but many of the leanings in more of that direction than before Bush for sure!

When you look at the definitions it's not hard to pick out some similarities. Good post!

There's also warrantless searches of home and property, arrest and indefinite detention of suspects without charges or trial. Maybe not pure fascism at it's height but, without out a doubt, leaning in that direction.
