A Staged Photo-Op Gone Bad

As George W. Bush continues his re-write history tour in a feeble attempt to create a positive image for his utter failure as a president, he made a surprise visit to Iraq. During his visit he claimed the Iraq war was "necessary". After all those years, all those reports of his blunders, all those American deaths and casualties, all those reports of his use of false intelligence, on and on, today he claim's it was necessary.

He held a press conference today with Iraq Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. A few minutes into Bush's staged photo op one of the television reporters for an Arabic television network had some remarks of his own for George W. Bush. He yelled in Arabic, "This is a farewell kiss you dog!" Then he threw a shoe at Bush. Stunned, Bush ducked the shoe. The reporter then threw a second shoe at Bush, which he also ducked. In the Arab culture, having a shoe used against you is an ultimate insult.

It's accurate and factual that authorization for Bush's war was based on his very explicit claims. It's accuarant and factual that after Bush started his war we learned that 100% of his claims were 100% false. Apparently their are a few Arabs that don't consider the war all that "necessary" either.

That's great footage Greco!

It's like anyone with half a brain knows. The people of Iraq want us out. Hey I'm glad the were just throwing shoes this time.

Won't be long until this LONG NATIONAL NIGHTMARE CALLED BUSH is over.

Thank God that America finally got the point and elected President Obama. Someone who's genuinely intelligent. And not just "BIG HAT NO CATTLE!"

That's not fair. Bush has cows. When he's heading off to his "ranch" in Crawford, they rent cows for him to pose in front of. True stuff.

Maybe we should just let them have their civil war. That way the reporter can get his head blown and all his kids, the ones that don't die too, can practice Sharia Law and live in a sewer and rant against the West. Better hope he does not have any daughters though, their future looks quite bleak.

Perhaps he preferred life under Saddam, when routinely murdering anyone for any reason was common place. This guy should be happy though, if he did this 6 years ago his whole blood line would have been purged from the Earth. At least there is freedom in Iraq now.

How come the secret service didnt shoot him on the spot?
Pulling a stunt like that on an airplane will get you potentially shot by an air marshall or at the very least a severe pummelling by your fellow passengers.

Who knows what could have been in that shoe.

While I generally disagree with his policies...Bush did a hell of a job dodging. Id have shot him.

Only George, and only in Texas would one rent cows. At least Reagon actually owned some cows.

They just rent 'em for when little Dubya will be there. When he leaves, so do the rent-a-cows.

Iraqi journalist throws shoes at Bush in Baghdad

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- A man identified as an Iraqi journalist threw shoes at -- but missed -- President Bush during a news conference Sunday evening in Baghdad, where Bush was making a farewell visit.

The shoe-thrower -- identified as Muntadhar al-Zaidi, an Iraqi journalist with Egypt-based al-Baghdadia television network -- could be heard yelling in Arabic: "This is a farewell ... you dog!"

While pinned on the ground by security personnel, he screamed: "You killed the Iraqis!"

Hurling shoes at someone, or sitting so that the bottom of a shoe faces another person, is considered an insult among Muslims.

One would argue they did have it already and it is hopefully scaling back. The problem I have is that our presence in Iraq enabled that situation to take place.
That way the reporter can get his head blown
As I said before, would have easily been justified in my book to have been done by the secret service.
and all his kids, the ones that don't die too, can practice Sharia Law
Now Rob, in all fairness, compared to his neighbors who we claim are our allies, Saddam didnt have exactly what most would call sharia law. If the presence of Sharia law is justification for an invasion we should have started by toppling the house of Saud.

Not being happy under Saddam does not mean that they should automatically be happy with the replacement, nor especially with the methods undertaken to make the change.

I am saddened and disappointed at this journalist's conduct...

...saddened because he should have thrown this.
