"Consumers ages 21 and older can begin purchasing cannabis products from licensed retailers on Friday, August 1st – some 28 months after lawmakers approved legislation legalizing the adult-use market.
.
Consumers will initially be able to purchase
cannabis at approximately a dozen retail locations — all of which are existing medical cannabis dispensaries that have received ‘conversion licenses’ to sell to patients and adults.

Delaware has taken a major step forward by launching a legal adult-use cannabis market that prioritizes equity, safety, and accountability,” Democratic Governor Matt Meyer said. “This new industry will generate critical revenue to strengthen our schools, infrastructure, and public health systems, while creating real opportunities for entrepreneurs. This revenue also gives us a powerful tool to invest in the communities most impacted by the war on drugs, addressing past wrongs and ensuring that the benefits of this new market reach every corner of our state."

"Investigators affiliated with the Case Western Reserve School of Medicine surveyed 93 IBD patients regarding their use of either cannabis or CBD products.
.
Among those
participants who acknowledged consuming cannabis, most said that it mitigated their IBD-related pain, stress, and anxiety. Many patients also reported using CBD oil products; however, they did not perceive them to be as effective as cannabis.
.

Thirty-four percent of patients reported decreasing their opioid consumption when using either cannabis or CBD products – a finding that is consistent with prior data. Fifteen percent of patients reported that their use of cannabis products induced disease remission.
.
The findings indicate that a significant proportion of IBD patients use cannabis, notice symptom relief, and prefer its therapeutic use,” the study’s authors concluded. “As interest in
alternative treatments gains momentum, these results can influence future clinical trials, guide healthcare professionals in patient counseling, and be included in altering treatment modalities.”

"Of the thousands of grow operations interdicted by the agency, the DEA characterized 15 of them as Chinese-affiliated. In recent years, members of law enforcement and others have alleged that Chinese drug trafficking organizations are becoming increasingly prevalent in domestic cannabis production — though the 2024 DEA data appears to be inconsistent with those claims." Cannabis Facts and Stats

At a glance

A variety of information sources are available to monitor the prevalence and trends of cannabis use in the United States. The resources below cover cannabis-related issues, including data around use, emergency department visits, substance use and misuse, policy measures, and other related tools.

Fast facts

  • Cannabis is the most commonly used federally illegal drug in the United States; 52.5 million people, or about 19% of Americans, used it at least once in 2021.1
  • Recent research estimated that approximately 3 in 10 people who use cannabis have cannabis use disorder.2
  • The risk of developing cannabis use disorder is even greater for people who begin to use it before age 18.3
  • Cannabis use directly affects the parts of the brain responsible for memory, learning, attention, decision-making, coordination, emotion, and reaction time.45
  • Infants, children, and teens (who still have developing brains) are especially susceptible to the adverse effects of cannabis.45
  • Long-term or frequent cannabis use has been linked to increased risk of psychosis or schizophrenia in some users.6

"Licensed cannabis retailers in Delaware sold over $900,000 worth of marijuana products in the three days following the launch of adult-use retail sales, according to data provided by the state government.
.
The inaugural three-day weekend (Friday to Sunday) had combined sales (adult and medical) of over $903,000, a measurable increase in sales pace that demonstrates robust demand and a
successful market launch,” the state acknowledged in a press release. “The $625,000 in adult sales corresponds to an estimated $93,750 in tax revenue.”
.
Despite the delay, Democratic Gov. Matt Meyer hailed the rollout. “Delaware’s first weekend of adult-use cannabis sales has shown that our
state is readyand eager — for a well-regulated, responsible market,” he said. “This moment reflects our commitment to growing Delawares economy, strengthening our communities, and prioritizing public health. Now, we have a real opportunity to reinvest this revenue directly into neighborhoods across our state, ensuring Delaware becomes a national model for cannabis quality, innovation, and fairness. I’m proud we’re moving thoughtfully and deliberately to get this right for all Delawareans.”

Another Record Budget Surplus
September 27, 2000
.
"This is part of our fiscal discipline to reduce the debt with the federal surplus," said one White House official who asked not to be identified. Reducing the debt, the official said, has "real effects for real Americans." It means lower interest rates for mortgages, car loans and college loans, and leads to an increase in investment and more jobs."It is the third year in a row the federal government has taken in more than it spent, and has paid down the debt. The last time the U.S. government had a third consecutive years of national debt reduction was 1949, said the official. The federal budget surplus for fiscal year 1999 was 122.7 billion, and 69.2 billion for fiscal year 1998. Those back-to-back surpluses, the first since 1957, allowed the Treasury to pay down $138 billion in national debt."

The democrat plan: reduce the deficit by blowing up the debt. That is not smart, however, but extremely stupid.
