While libs try to draw similarities between alcohol and marijuana, they are NOT the same at all. As I've posted in the past, there are stark differences between the substances. Alcohol use is detrimental to health as is the use of Marijuana. Supporters will discount the differences but, they are there and scientifically proven nonetheless. The fact that there is an alcohol problem in this country should wise people up that legalizing more addictive substances isn't going to help the situation but, potheads crave their pot regardless of the massive health consequences. Denial seems to be libs/potheads ideology and philosophy.

Apparently you haven't read nor studied scripture much then. The Bible specifically says that pharmacology and pharmacological substances were used in PEGAN worship of the devil and other false gods. It also says specifically that we are not to be drunk but, sober.

As far as "prohibition" goes, I neither favor nor disfavor it. Past history is past. How it was enacted, how it was enforced, why it was enacted or the way it was enacted/enforced is whole other matter. Thalidomide for example was widely used by medical professionals until people began to accept that it was causing all sorts of deaths. There are numerous other examples of substances that were once considered "safe".

"House and Senate lawmakers have approved legislation, Senate Concurrent Resolution 127, urging voters to reject a citizen-led effort to legalize medical cannabis access.

Advocates with the group Natural Medicine Alliance of Idaho are seeking to place The Idaho Medical Cannabis Act on the November ballot. The measure permits qualified patients with a physician’s recommendation to obtain cannabis from state-licensed operators. Last month, petitioners announced that they had gathered more than 77,000 signatures from registered voters in favor of the proposal. Petitioners must gather 70,725 signatures from Idaho voters to place the question on the ballot.

In response to the effort, lawmakers have approved SCR 127, urging voters to “reject any effort to bring the Idaho Medical Cannabis Act to the ballot.” Text of the resolution alleges that the Act will “have devastating impacts on Idaho children and their families … and would effectively legalize widespread recreational use of marijuana.”
