Big news tonight for Democrats. It's been reported on all three cable news networks that both Hillary and Bill are both on board with the Obama candidacy. Looks like it's all about Democratic party unity...the Repubs worse nightmare.

The Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- Barack Obama told Hillary Rodham Clinton's top financial backers Thursday that he personally has donated $2,300 to her campaign and more significantly has asked his biggest donors to help pay off her more than $20 million debt.

Obama made the announcement at a meeting with Clinton donors who have been frustrated that the Democratic presidential nominee-in-waiting had not done more to help her pay the bills even as they are expected to help fund his campaign.

The size of Obama's donation is the most he can contribute under federal law.

He received a standing ovation from the crowd of more than 200 when he said he would enlist his supporters to help pay off her debt, said Tom McMillen, a retired NBA player and former Democratic congressman from Maryland who attended. The meeting was closed to the media.

"It was really about unifying the party,'' McMillen said.

Clinton adviser Terry McAuliffe said Obama himself wrote a check to Clinton.

"When the two of them walked into the room, the room erupted,'' he said. "This campaign has ended. Hillary Clinton has said we've all got to get together.''

McAuliffe said after speaking, Clinton and Obama took questions ranging from helping with the debt to promoting a joint ticket.

...
Clinton spoke to two trade groups earlier Thursday before she introduced Obama to her most loyal fundraisers. Behind the scenes, the two sides were negotiating the extent of her future involvement in Obama's campaign.

"I am asking you to do everything you can to help elect Barack Obama,'' Clinton told the American Nurses Association, a 2.9-million member group that backed her candidacy. "I have debated him in more debates than I can remember and I have seen his passion and his determination and his grit and his grace. In his own life he has lived the American dream.''

"I'm going to need Hillary by my side campaigning during his election, and I'm going to need all of you," Obama said, according to a report written by the only reporter allowed into the event and shared with other reporters afterward. He recounted how he had told his top fundraisers this week "to get out their checkbooks and start working to make sure Senator Clinton _ the debt that's out there needs to be taken care of."

Clinton told her donors they must make electing Obama a priority, as she acknowledged the hard feelings that remain on both sides.

"This was a hard-fought campaign," she said. "That's what made it so exciting and intense and why people's passions ran so high on both sides. I know my supporters have extremely strong feelings, and I know Barack's do as well. But we are a family, and we have an opportunity now to really demonstrate clearly we do know what's at stake, and we will do whatever it takes to win back this White House."

The best part of this is that Obama supporters, who hate Hillary, will be paying off Hillary’s debt. I am glad! :D

I don't think they are as united as you want them to be. I just saw her on the news saying to support Barack Obama, it looked about as sincere as me saying I like paying state taxes.

So Hillary has engaged in a last sad political act, publicly ass-kissing for the ghetto boy so she can retain more of her millions. As much as I dislike Hillary, I can't help but feel sorry for at least her daughter to see her final degradation as a political whore.

Honestly, you never know. Sometimes children see the sick stupidity of their parents and turn the other way. This could be a benefit to her daughter to see where immoral power grabbing activity leads you.

All of us Hillary supporters ain't buying that crap. I don't think that Obama wants to lose $20 million of his funds to help Hillary.

So much for party unity. That didn't last long... about 3 posts I think.

That's funny!!!:D

I don't think that Bill will jump into the Obama wagon, unless it favors him somehow. I don't blame him for being pissed. The Obama camp said so many negatives about him and Hillary.

BTW: I'm still looking for videos of Bill saying that he will begin campainging for Obama next week, as CNN's Candy Crowell has been reporting all week.
