Obamas Poll Numbers Fading

whats funny is all you right wingers thing that the poll numbers mean people are siding with you....when alot of the drop as of late is the left who thinks he is giving in to much to the moderates or Right wing..

Hey pocket, we agree :) Thats great.

Funny thing is I know many said when President Bush's numbers were low that it was more than just the rabid left hating him, it was people like me angry that he was spending too much money, trying to give illegals citizenship as a reward for sneaking in instead of giving it to those who have waited and was legal about it all.

I agree with you that only part of the falling numbers are people who dislike him and think he has gone too far and part are people who do not think he has gone far enough. Just like President George W. Bush :)

Wow, pocket you are wrong again!

-14 is the worst poll number I've seen to date on Obama.

It makes sense given his destruction of the US economy and
spending money like no tomorrow!

Rasmussen even claims Americans side with republicans now.
When I say Americans, I mean tax-paying US citizens.

Republican candidates have now matched their biggest lead over Democrats
of the past several years on the Generic Congressional Ballot also.

Maybe, Obama is good for Republicans!

I dont think he is wrong, I think a fair number of those who disagree with him feel he has not gone far enough, I would guess more of them are thinking he has gone too far but I think he is correct. I dont know if any one on the left will admit that President Bush's numbers were low due to both parties being upset but for very different reason, just like this...

I did see the thing on how the republicans are doing bettter in the polling but it still leaves a number of people who are just angry he has not gone far enough left.

Couldn't care less, as long as the idiot in chief is gone next election, and perhaps even the democrats lose control of the congress.

Reasons are irrelevant to me.

You're exactly right. I can't honestly say that I "strongly approve" of the job Obama is doing, you can be sure millions of other liberals feel the same way.

However, when election time comes around I will vote for him again, because the alternative is so much worse it makes me cringe just to think about it.

And for that reason, Rasmussen's approval index is BS..you RW fools want to hang your hats on it, fine, but you're kidding yourselves.

Popeye, you and I talked about this back when President Bush was still the president. You were laughing at his low poll numbers and I was saying that the way they ask the questions I cant answer honsestly that I strongly approve and I can not say we are heading down the right direction and not because he is too conservative but because he is not conservative enough. Just like you are saying now about obama.

You seemed to disagree with me back then but now you are saying the same thing I was saying then

Grrr!

As of 8/31/2009 Forty-one percent (41%) Strongly Disapprove giving Obama a Presidential Approval Index rating of -11 .

The polls are statying negative in double digits and unemployment under Obama is staying positive in double digits now. Obama is all about double digits!

Unless jobs come back (which they aren't) Obama is likely to have to settle for poll numbers below Bush. I bet it t's tough to look up and see Bush beating you in the polls!

That is the worst its ever been, it started at like +29 on his anointing day.

This last two weeks have been terrible for him, I am soo happy!!!!

-3 is the worst he has ever had, I hope its -29 by August

Yes, Obama is finally receiving the bad credit he deserves . Obama is completely INEPT ! I thoght little jimmie carter was a disgrace to all the other Presidents BUT the ARROGANT OBAMA is even a disgrace to some 0f our enemies. Now , we see first hand how an UNFAIR ,BIASED , and CORRUPT NATIONAL MEDIA can sell us a PIG as a STEAK! Obama himself is aware of his insecurities and must lean on a TELEPROMPTER to get through a speech . He has no idea what he is saying . He is PARROTING the words written by some EXTREME STATIST , who hates America and her history . America's sin was falling for the tons of lies and propaganda that was a copy of the Nazi Propaganda machine of the 1930's. Tell a lie loud enough and long enough and it becomes fact ! Most VOTERS FELL FOR IT and now all suffer because of it .
TAKE BACK AMERICA !! VOTE for PRINCIPLE in 2010, PRINCIPLE NOT PARTY , then in 2012 , we throw out the remaining trash and begin rebuilding America.

People pointing at polls numbers right now must not understand what happens during major legislative initiatives.

The reason the President's poll numbers have dropped is mostly due to the far Left sending a signal for him not to compromise on single payer.

Just like my "The economy will be back up to speed by the last quarter of 2010" here's another that will come true even quicker...

As soon as a Health Insurance Reform Bill is passed (any Health Insurance Reform Bill) the Left & the Middle will come together and President Obama's poll numbers will shoot up about 10 points very, very quickly.

..the socialist perspective..

"...According to New York Times columnist David Brooks, no newly elected American president has ever seen such a rapid and steep decline in the polls. Much of the media, including Brooks, ascribe the fall to the president’s supposed embrace of liberal reformism. The US News & World Report, for example, headlined their report on the approval figures, “Poll: Democrats’ Hard Left Agenda Driving Away Independents.”

In reality, the mounting political crisis facing the administration is the result of its continuation and intensification of the pro-business and militarist policies of Obama’s Republican predecessor, which were repudiated by American voters in the 2008 elections.

Obama’s right-wing policies have alienated wide layers of the population that previously backed him. Zogby noted that the sharpest decline in support occurred among 18 to 29-year-olds, where Obama’s approval ratings have fallen 18 percentage points, from 59 percent in July to 41 percent at the end of August. Support among African-American voters fell 14 points, from 83 percent in July to 74 percent last month.

Among those who call themselves Democrats, approval ratings have fallen from 88 percent in July to 75 percent in August; and among those describing themselves as “liberals,” the decline has been from 95 percent to 86 percent in the same period.

While millions who voted for Obama hoped the self-declared candidate of “change” would represent a break from the Bush administration, Obama has pursued a reactionary agenda in every aspect of domestic and foreign policy.

On the economic front, the Democratic president has acted as a ruthless instrument of the financial elite, handing over trillions of dollars to the Wall Street banks and blocking the slightest restrictions on their speculative activities and massive pay packages. As a result, the share prices and profits of the banks have increased, while tens of millions of workers suffer an unrelenting assault on their jobs and living standards and the loss of their homes and life savings without the slightest relief.

A recent Gallup poll found that 83 percent of respondents said they were worried Obama’s economic measures would not work and expected the situation will only get worse. Two-thirds say Wall Street will benefit more from a new bank bailout plan than the average taxpayer.

A major factor in the falling poll numbers this summer is Obama’s health care “reform.” The centerpiece of his domestic policy has proven to be nothing but a plan, drawn up by the health care and insurance industry, to boost corporate profits by rationing and reducing medical coverage, and paving the way for the dismantling of employer-paid benefits and Medicare and Medicaid.

A new CNN/Opinion Research Poll found that 53 percent of Americans disapprove of Obama’s handling of health care, a sharp change from March when a majority approved of the plan, largely because they thought it had something to do with extending coverage to the uninsured. Nearly half of the seniors polled by CNN said Medicare recipients would be worse off under the president’s plan.... "

Oh come on, I recall you talking about Bush poll numbers and never accounting for the fact that at least some of that had to do with Republicans being upset at the man.

I also would not bank on the fact that any bill is going to be passed at this point, and when/if one is, it will be hard to declare a serious victory with some watered down meaningless piece of legislation.

I do not see his poll numbers shooting up should "something" pass.

First... come back and talk to me about poll numbers and what they mean if President Obama ever gets to a Bush low 22% overall job approval rating.;)

Secondly... a Heath Insurance Reform Bill will pass (post I said that on the fridge):) and although it won't be everything it could be (at first) because of the ridiculous kicking and screaming and fearmongering by the Far Right who have already said this is really about just wanting President Obama to have a "Waterloo", or to fail... healthcare will be better than it was before the Bill with greatly expanded access and restrictions against disqualifying people for preexisting conditions. That's huge on its own.

And another "fridge post"... the Bill passes the President's numbers jump up. See if I'm not right...
