Obama's Sneering Elitism

Obama says people "cling" to guns and religion because they've lost a job. :D
What a snotty thing to say. Hear that religious people? You're just religious because you're unemployed.

Like usual, you've taken things out of context in an attempt to smear Obama. Regardless, Obama, at a town hall meeting tonight in Indiana, responded to the attacks by McCain and Clinton over his comments:

"Here's what's rich Sen. Clinton says, I don't think people are bitter in Pennsylvania. I think Barack's being condescending. John McCain says, he's obviously out of touch with people. Out of touch? John McCain, it took him three tries to figure out the home foreclosure crisis was a problem and to come up with a plan for it, and he's saying I'm out of touch? Sen. Clinton voted for a credit card sponsored bankruptcy bill that made it harder for people to get out of debt, after taking money from the financial services companies, and she says I'm out of touch? "

Like usual, he's right on point. Who are McCain and Clinton to be talking about the struggles of working class people?

Like usual, you've taken things out of context in an attempt to smear Obama.

As usual, everything Saint Obama says or does is "explained" away by his cultists, no matter how outrageous it is. His sneering remark was made exceptionally worse because it was uttered to pander to the class attitudes of a pack of wealthy elitist lib snobs. There is no missing "context" - turn off your political spin machine - it revealed Obama as having the age old attitude of liberals: "you don't know what's good for you, we do, and we are going to help you unwashed peasants inspite of your pathetic infirmities."

Now Obama is making a clumsy attempt at backpeddling, saying it was a "poor choice of words".

"I said something unforgiveably stupid, arrogant, and ridiculous" = "poor choice of words".

Obamoonies kept telling us Obama was "fresh" and "new" and "different" - "blah blah blah", but a disturbing picture is becoming increasingly clear, from his racist associations, his unpatriotic bent, and now his condescending snobbery and foolish views of people who didn't go to Harvard.

your outrage is unbecoming, you walking stereotype. you're rush limbaugh without the fat paycheck. how is it actively working against a better future for this country?

you people have excused every horrible thing george bush has done or said in the last ten years, from executing the mentally disabled in texas, to steering the economy into the third recession in 8 years, to the patriot act which violated half of the bill of rights by itself, to getting us into an unwinnable war that's costing every household $100 a month and no making us any safer, to... oh, what has he done recently? oh yeah, admitted to personally authorizing the torture of detainees, which, again, DID NOT MAKE US ANY SAFER.

but it's okay because obama is elitist, right? or, oh, i saw one picture on the internet where his hands were at his side during the national anthem. he hates america, i guess. if this were any republican saying something that had a factual basis but wording it poorly you'd talk about how all of us "libs! libs! libs!" were unfairly attacking them because we hated america. how about crazy john "bomb-bomb-bomb iran"/"people getting screwed on their loans because of a climate of deregulation my party caused aren't our problem" mccain? well, i guess mccain is a bad person, right? what an elitist!

read the whole speech, which you clearly haven't done, and tell me there was no context. watch the video of his speech in terre haute the other night and tell me there was no context. the thing is, you won't, because you wouldn't want your anti-liberal equilibrium disturbed. obama can only be horrible, and to ever admit that he had a point or at least meant well would just shatter your whole world.

Uhhhh.... George Bush isn't running for president, you need to get over George Bush. :D

If my remarks seemed intemperate, it's because Obama's arrogance crystalized a "perfect storm" in my mind about what's been happening: Obama's revelation that instead of being "fresh" and "new" and "different", he has the same age-old condescending attitude of liberals; the lib media's continuing worshipful treatment of him for at least four years; the glossing over and whitewash of the things that reveal his character - eg, I think it was CNN that downplayed Obama's latest outrageous statement as a "gaffe", you know, like he mispoke or something.

read the whole speech, which you clearly haven't done, and tell me there was no context. watch the video of his speech in terre haute the other night and tell me there was no context. the thing is, you won't, because you wouldn't want your anti-liberal equilibrium disturbed. obama can only be horrible, and to ever admit that he had a point or at least meant well would just shatter your whole world.

It's a staple of libs to try to switch the focus from Obama's self-revelatory comments to the people who are stunned by them, but it won't wash among many ordinary people: they see the things he's said and done, and they aren't going to be impressed by the damage-control spin.

way to totally avoid responding to anything i said.

let's break it down.

obama said something that anyone with high school level reading comprehension could tell was well-intentioned.

every other candidate in this race, and many other prominent politicians, ESPECIALLY CONSERVATIVES (the group who holds GEORGE W. BUSH. as their avatar- hence his relevance to the topic)---- have acted with utter contempt towards the people of this country.

and yet, your neoconservative limbaugh-esque faux outrage focuses on obama and one tiny comment.

the point is: if you're so concerned with elitism, with politicians positioning themselves as superior to civilians, why weren't you outraged with bush? hillary? mccain? anyone else? if you are REALLY so upset by this, there are a brazilian-and-a-half worse examples- this is so minor. may i point to dick cheney, who when asked about his response to the over two-thirds of americans who oppose the iraq war, responded, "so?"

this comment, this story, this idea of obama's supposed "elitism" being a hindrance to his candidacy, it's so completely off the wall. and people like you are pumping it up because you know that in a race based on real issues and ideas and policies, no one will beat obama. not this year, anyway. and it's frankly really tiring.

Whaaaattttttt????????? :)

obama said something that anyone with high school level reading comprehension could tell was well-intentioned.

No actually, Obama said something that any one with an IQ at least ten points above a carrot could tell was arrogant and elitist, no ifs ands buts maybes or perhapses.

every other candidate in this race, and many other prominent politicians, ESPECIALLY CONSERVATIVES (the group who holds GEORGE W. BUSH. as their avatar- hence his relevance to the topic)---- have acted with utter contempt towards the people of this country.

Friggin AMAZING the stuff Obamoonies come up with to spin out of Obama's questionable statements, actions, and history: "Duh, everyone else did it too." Duh, no they didn't.

and yet, your neoconservative limbaugh-esque faux outrage focuses on obama and one tiny comment.

Another Obamoonie mantra: it was one tiny elitist comment, and one tiny racist lunatic harangue by his mentor, and one tiny "first time she's proud of her country" by his wife, and one tiny marxist association, and one tiny relationship with a real estate crook and one tiny refusal to wear a flag pin, and one tiny march with Farrakhan, one tiny implicit approval of infanticide and all the tiny stuff is adding up. Any one of the Obama eruptions would have sunk his candidacy if he were white, but Obamoonies think we should just drink the kool aid, and quit focussing on what he says and what he does and his history and his record.

the point is: if you're so concerned with elitism, with politicians positioning themselves as superior to civilians, why weren't you outraged with bush? hillary? mccain?

Yeah - McCain is a decorated war hero and spent seven years in a vietnamese gulag, and Obama went to Harvard, and therefore they're both elitists - yeah right sure.

this comment, this story, this idea of obama's supposed "elitism" being a hindrance to his candidacy, it's so completely off the wall. and people like you are pumping it up because you know that in a race based on real issues and ideas and policies, no one will beat obama. not this year, anyway. and it's frankly really tiring.

I've attacked his issues like crazy, and his elitist attitudes are critical - they reveal his statist mentality and how dangerous he would be as president in a country that depends on freedom and equality and free markets and free speech. He's an anachronism - an arrogant New Deal bureaucrat in 2008.

All three of the top candidates are eletists. All three candidates get their financial backing from some of the same corporations, like JP Morgan, meaning when they get to office, they all have the exact same agenda. They are all elitists, and why would they want to help the middle and lower classes when they get rich from helping the corporations at the top. Each one of these candidates has been bought off by some corporation. None are better than the other.

And FYI, the Obama campaign's Top Foreign Policy Advisor is Zbigniew Brzezinski’s. He was the first director of the Trilateral Commission, and on the board of the Council on Foreign Relations. He wrote a book called The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy and Its Geostrategic Imperatives (1997), which is about unification of the world government under the UN.

So which of the many candidates that started this race would you have supported?

Whaaaattttttt????????? :)

the questions in my first post and second post were the same. you only answered them the second time. and this is what passes for smarter than a carrot?

No actually, Obama said something that any one with an IQ at least ten points above a carrot could tell was arrogant and elitist, no ifs ands buts maybes or perhapses.

i agree that he came off sounding elitist. i also know how to read and can tell that what he said is not what he meant, because unlike you, i'm not looking for every injustice to pin on him as some kind of "uppity negro." you think obama has committed oh-so-many transgressions against whatever "little guy" you're supposedly standing up for. you haven't said what candidate you DO like, but i guarantee he's misspoken at least as flagrantly. probably worse, because to be perfectly honest, obama hasn't said anything that bad if you're not trying to be offended.

Friggin AMAZING the stuff Obamoonies come up with to spin out of Obama's questionable statements, actions, and history: "Duh, everyone else did it too." Duh, no they didn't.

duh, they did. how have the last 8 years of tax cuts primarily benefitting the richest people in the country (for example) NOT been "elitist?" how has a war that has benefitted the us in no other way besides lining the pockets of defense contractors and oil companies (for example) NOT elitist? how is a law where it takes 1/1000th the amount of crack cocaine as powder cocaine to receive the same punishment, NOT elitist? how is a policy where lending companies can cheat consumers into paying outrageously higher interest rates than they thought they had agreed to, NOT elitist? i could go on, i hope you get the picture.

ok, for one, you clearly don't know what marxism is. obama is far from a marxist. the right wing and its anachronistic fear of communism are funny, actually... i might just laugh so hard i can bump america standard of living up to where those pesky socialist scandinavians are! i've never heard of a MARCH WITH farrakahn, so link me if there's any actual evidence of that, or if you're just talking about all the tenuous connections that everyone has known about for months, nevermind. the rezko thing is totally out in the open and he's been cleared of any wrongdoing. i'm a young white dude (not a rich white dude, either) and i agree with his pastor and his wife. i can understand how your racial sensitivities might be offended by rev. wright but that just means you're a little bit racist yourself. like i said, every candidate messes up, and if hillary's pathological lying and mccain's "bomb bomb bomb iran" didn't sink them, obama's got nothing to worry about.

Yeah - McCain is a decorated war hero and spent seven years in a vietnamese gulag, and Obama went to Harvard, and therefore they're both elitists - yeah right sure.

mccain married some beer wench worth a hundred million dollars, obama came from a single parent family on food stamps.

i can selectively cherrypick facts to suit my argument too, doesn't make me right.

the boogey man is going to eat your children!! this isn't some damn conspiracy, no one is out to destroy or humiliate the united states of america here. if you think his policies are wrong, fine, but conservatives act like any democrat or liberal (not the same) getting anywhere near any office higher than dog catcher is the end of the world. if obama gets elected and does a bad job you people can vote him out in four years, knock it off with all the OUTRAGE already. it's childish.

WhaaaaaaaAAAAAAAaaaaaaAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTT?????????

Ooooo - and here we we've been told for a year that he's a silver tongued Demosthenes.

because unlike you, i'm not looking for every injustice to pin on him as some kind of "uppity negro."

Oops! Played the race card quicker than the average Obamoonie! :D

you think obama has committed oh-so-many transgressions against whatever "little guy" you're supposedly standing up for. you haven't said what candidate you DO like, but i guarantee he's misspoken at least as flagrantly. probably worse, because to be perfectly honest, obama hasn't said anything that bad if you're not trying to be offended.

I don't vote, supported no candidates, although Romney was the least objectionable. And spare me the "misspoken" BS - such comments reveal the mentality of Obama.

duh, they did. how have the last 8 years of tax cuts primarily benefitting the richest people in the country (for example) NOT been "elitist?"

Elitism is a mental orientation and worldview, not a bank balance. The wealthy benefit from tax cuts because THEY are the ones who pay the taxes. (Psssst: "Get" the rich isn't a rational economic plan.)

how has a war that has benefitted the us in no other way besides lining the pockets of defense contractors and oil companies (for example) NOT elitist?

Besides your continuing difficulty getting your brain around "elitist", I of course disagree with your premise.

how is a law where it takes 1/1000th the amount of crack cocaine as powder cocaine to receive the same punishment, NOT elitist?

So you're saying the government has deliberately set up an elite class of criminals? Do you ever say these things aloud to yourself? Do you laugh then?

how is a policy where lending companies can cheat consumers into paying outrageously higher interest rates than they thought they had agreed to, NOT elitist? i could go on, i hope you get the picture.

How is it elitism when a bunch of fools sign something without reading and/or understanding it?

ok, for one, you clearly don't know what marxism is. obama is far from a marxist. the right wing and its anachronistic fear of communism are funny, actually... i might just laugh so hard i can bump america standard of living up to where those pesky socialist scandinavians are!

Did I call Obama a marxist? I don't remember doing that.

i've never heard of a MARCH WITH farrakahn, so link me if there's any actual evidence of that, or if you're just talking about all the tenuous connections that everyone has known about for months, nevermind.

Here's a link to the edition in the Chicago Reader in which the information appeared - note that the article is an Obama suck piece.

http://www.chicagoreader.com/features/stories/archive/barackobama/

the rezko thing is totally out in the open and he's been cleared of any wrongdoing.

Whaaaat??? He's currently on trial for corruption.

i'm a young white dude (not a rich white dude, either) and i agree with his pastor and his wife. i can understand how your racial sensitivities might be offended by rev. wright but that just means you're a little bit racist yourself. like i said, every candidate messes up, and if hillary's pathological lying and mccain's "bomb bomb bomb iran" didn't sink them, obama's got nothing to worry about.

Do Obamoonies all use mind-f--king euphemism and understatement?? Ascribing objections to Wright's paranoid racist hallucinations as due to "racial sensitivity" qualifies for Chutzpah of the Year Award!

OK - enough of your crapola.
