No the Afghan and Arab fighters that drained them for years had nothing to do with it...No the pope played no part...did not even have a small impact on the Polish Solidarity movement...and of course...had nothing to do with the fact it was a house of cards system that had almost no choice but to fail...

This thread was started by Top Gun, who is one of the furthest left on the forum, and seconded by Popeye, who was even further left.

So, you were wrong.

As for supporting Obama, I did say he was not a socialist, a Marxist, a Communist, or any of the other absurd labels that have been thrown at him. I started a thread at one point comparing him to his predecessor. Actually, there is little difference.

But no, I don't support his big government statist policies, not any more than I supported Bush's similar policies.

The Rich are saving money...this hurts the Economy..not helps...what econ class did you take that saving money and not spending it...helps a econ?

Any windfall to the wealthy will not necessarily result in them investing it and creating jobs. Also, they do not save it as such.

Saving (in a bank) does not produce more money with the interest rate barely matching the rate of inflation. The wealthy would do the same thing I do with extra money; invest it in stocks as day traders or scalpers to make more money (such practices do nothing to help the economy and create jobs). Only a ignorant fool would put it in a savings account, and the wealthy are no fools when it comes to feathering their own nests.

The Mujahadeen brought down the Soviet Union, at least according to the Mujahadeen.

Actually, the Soviet Union fell from the weight of their bureaucratic inefficiency. Socialism simply never has worked, and it didn't work for them.

Reagan's constant pressure on the stinking Soviets resulted in them picking Gorby as supreme scumbag rather than a cold blooded murdering hard liner. Reagan stopped nearly all trade with the USSR preventing them from getting high tech equipment, except for the pipeline software/equipment that the CIA under the Great Bill Casey, sabotaged the software and blow up the pipeline causing great distress on the commies...Yippee. Reagan equipped the Afghans resulting in the Russkis losing that war. Reagan imposed a policy of fighting and stopping the imperialist actions by the stinking commies anywhere in the world. He stopped the sale of energy by the commies to W. Europe resulting in no hard currency for the worthless commies. Star Wars which American commies/libs (no doubt you included) condemned, scared the sh*t out of the low life Soviets forcing them to spend even more on their scummy military and ultimately admitting they were losers in the arms race. Reagan's aggressive speeches never before spoken by an American president freaked out the commies. It goes on and on...do I need to keep going to prove you are ignorant of the facts?

Reagan forced the commies to fold under and it worked. He did all this while many DF liberals in Congress and the Media did all they could to undermine him.

But he looked so, you know, conservative and wonderful, and he sounded so decisive and great! "Mr Gorbachev, tear down this wall!" And the wall came tumbling down, just like the one around Jericho. All you have to do is watch some of his old movies to see how well he tackled the bad guys. How could anyone doubt that he and his hard riding cowboys took down the evil Soviets and then rode off into the sunset?
