U.S. health care lagging

and for all that, they still have a higher cure rate than US medical providers. Pathetic, isn't it?

Of the many things I have learned, one is the media and many organizations which analyze American HC ALWAYS lie about American HC. So my son, you too must learn this even in your advanced stage of decrepitude.

You must remember that the Left's motto is 'the ends justify the means." I sure hope even you know what that means.

Just as the WHO lies about Euro socialist nations offering better care than the US. Just as those nations misrepresent their infant mortality rates, just so lefties like you can be DUPED into believing socialist HC is better. I am willing to bet those higher cure rates YOU cite are also a BIG FAT F-ing LIE. How about you?

All those links were really good, thank you for posting them! I have read a few of them before and they are all sad and it’s scary that this is what our system is going to turn into.

This link bothered me the most, but they all bothered me.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/6127514/Sentenced-to-death-on-the-NHS.html

If the American media actually reported ALL the ills with Euro socialist HC, Americans would never accept the crappy care leftist politicians want to force us to accept.

For example, a couple visited Italy recently. She fall in the street in Milan and broke her hip. She was placed in a hospital WARD in Milan...and open room with several dozen other women...no such thing as a private room. The windows were open and without screens...no such thing as window screens and central AC. Bugs regularly flew around the room. The nurses refused to give her a sponge bath...after a few days things got a bit stinky...nurses also refused to quickly change her bed pan...making things very unpleasant...it goes on and on and on........., but you get the jest.

This happened to friends of ours. The husband is a man of means...he is a very successful dentist with his own practice. And keep in mind, HE WAS PAYING CASH FOR EVERYTHING. They got the hell out of there ASAP. She suffered a long painful flight home just to get away from that hellish SOCIALIST HC system.

Upon their return to the USA, she was hospitalized for MRSA and nearly died. While in the US hospital, they had to REDO the hip surgery done in Italy because it was done improperly. Thankfully she has fully recovered.

Horror stories like these are common, but the American left media refuses to print them and instead prints lies about the ineffectiveness of US HC and many are duped.

CRAZY!

Europe doesn't misrepresent infant mortality. SOME countries in Europe use different measurements for "life birth.". Others (including Belgium) use the same formula as the us.

And you have NO basis to judge social democracy countries, with theexceptions of extreme roght wing propaganda, which is obviouslyx biased and even purposefully lying.

Luckily, most rational people do know thetruth, and, as more people travel an work abroad, those ridiculous "urban legends" are being dispelled.

BY THE WAY. YOU ARE ACCUSING A POSTER IN THIS FORUM OF LYING.
This is a direct insult.

But, since you and Pandora appear so interested in "horror stories,". And you seem tothink that those "isolated cases" are the true reflection of the whole system, here are a few of our "home grown" hospital horrors!

Not long ago, a young Ohio woman named Trina Bachtel, who was having health problems while pregnant, tried to get help at a local clinic.

Unfortunately, she had previously sought care at the same clinic while uninsured and had a large unpaid balance. The clinic wouldn’t see her again unless she paid $100 per visit — which she didn’t have.

Eventually, she sought care at a hospital 30 miles away. By then, however, it was too late. Both she and the baby died.

You may think that this was an extreme case, but stories like this are common in America.

Back in 2006, The Wall Street Journal told another such story: that of a young woman named Monique White, who failed to get regular care for lupus because she lacked insurance. Then, one night, “as skin lesions spread over her body and her stomach swelled, she couldn’t sleep.”

The Journal’s report goes on: “Mama, please help me! Please take me to the E.R.,” she howled, according to her mother, Gail Deal. “O.K., let’s go,” Mrs. Deal recalls saying. “No, I can’t,” the daughter replied. “I don’t have insurance.”

She was rushed to the hospital the next day after suffering a seizure — and the hospital spared no expense on her treatment. But it all came too late; she was dead a few months later.

You are right...for once.

Who misrepresents stats on infant mortality? Of course the answer is, American liberals.

Thanks for allowing me to correct my post.

No, the General arrogance of the American Right makes it too hard, too painful for them to consider that ANYTHING that is not initiated or embraced by AMERICA can possibly be more effective than what American main stream status quo offers.

The same is true in many areas of our life (health care, education, infrastructure, transportation)' and that refusal to accept that others may have better answers and to benefit from those answers is a big reason why we are losing our leadership place in the world and bing considered by the rest of the world, including our allies as a "sundown enterpris,". A dying dinosaure.

I don't think most Americans are willing to read UK papers; they are too busy watching American Idol and stuff like that. If they did they might realize how important our system is and that it is worth fighting for. People like your dentist friend should speak up and often.

If our media told the truth about socialized HC in Europe, most Americans would know it sucks.

The ironic thing is our friends are big time libs. They continue to be but on the issue of HC, they are NOW very much against government controlled HC.

Sometimes it takes personal experience to change your mind. I am glad they changed their minds but it’s sad that it took something that dangerous.

apparently, you don't read the AMERICAN newspaper accounts of the horrors stories in AMERICAN hospital either, not evenwhen they are brought to you on a silver platter in this forum!

I posted a very serious article about hospital related, often deadly infections that cost billions a year tothe healthcare system ingeneral (an average of $10,000 more expense per infection), I also posted two stories about a woman and he baby dying because of the system, and a couple of weeks ago, I posted MANY insstance of hospital dumping of patients, but those were just sweptunder the carpet!

This clealy demonstrate your and Gipper interest in the truth!

We know about the problems with our medical system. It’s on the news and we live it every day. I am not sure why you think you personally need to point it out to us or we won’t know about it. It’s the problems with the UK system and European system in general that we Americans do not hear about.

I also do not think it clearly demonstrates anything except you will try and find a dig or jab when ever possible

You state that you know about the problems in our medical system?

And you still insist that "it is the best in the world," in spite of all the statistics clearly demonstrating otherwise?

And you think that a few "less than clean hospitals" in Europe are more of an issue than what we face here? Including inferior care (or no care) for the uninsured, higher child mortality and lower life expectancy, AND higher levels of MSRA (hospital related infections) in our "CLEAN AND MODERN" hospitals than in the "dirty hospitals in Europe?"

Do you sometime feel like your statements are incongruent? Because. . .they are!

Our Medical system has problems, we just don’t have as many or a lot of the same problems as other countries. Believing our system is better does not mean I think our system is perfect or does not need some changing.

Problems and all… It’s still the best system being offered on planet earth.

Do you sometime feel like your statements are incongruent? Because. . .they are!

No, but I do often wonder why I waste my time talking to you

In your dream!

You just refuse to look at the information that clearly shows that IT IS NOT!
But, that's okay, keep on living in your delusional world. . .the only sad thing about that, is that if you really believe the US has "the best system on planet earth," it will keep you from trying to improve it. ..and that's the way we fell behind in the first place!

No, but I do often wonder why I waste my time talking to you

I TOTALLY understand that feeling! It is entirely mutual! ;):)
