We don't need no stinkin' badges, er I mean amendment.

That is what P. Obama and congress is saying at this very moment.

Our constitution clearly states the way certain things are supposed to be run in America and if one doesn't like it the only option is to make an amendment. Ignoring the constitution and just doing whatever one wants to do is a violation of the only oath of office a president takes and is illegal.

What am I talking about? The details are less important than the fact that some people feel they can just ignore the highest law of the land but they are:

The constitution says that states can have representatives. The District of Colombia, however, is not a state and cannot have a representative.

In 1961 the residents were concerned that they could not vote for President. So rather than ignore the constitution they proposed an amendment so that they could vote and they got it.

In 1978 they proposed an amendment so that they could have a representative. See, they understood that the right way and the only way to go about this was to propose an amendment. They failed.

So what does P. Obama and congress say to this? Amendment? We don't need no stinkin' amendment. "The fantasy [that they can pass such a law legally] has captured many minds. [] Barack Obama has endorsed the idea and the Senate is expected to approve it this week. To maintain the current party balance, the House would expand from 435 members to 437, with Republican-dominated Utah getting an extra seat to match the one given to the Democratic-leaning District.
