I don't agree with most of your post. Yes, I certainly agree that Pelosi had no respect for Trump and made a stupid scene.I am sympathetic to what you might be feeling right now.
You want to think well of our men and women in blue.
But, the indications are that they were following the orders of the House Speaker, aka the Mayor of Capitol Hill.
Remember that Speaker Nancy Pelosi tore up Trump's State of the Union speech and threw it on the floor.
She wanted Trump out of office, never to return.
She knew the President would draw tens of thousands to his rally to stop the steal and that they would head to the Capitol.
She could have had Police steer or direct the crowd away from the Capitol.
She could have barricaded the Capitol.
She could have requested National Guard troops to be there to protect the Capitol building and those who were within it.
She did NONE of these things.
She allowed the peaceful protesters to assemble directly next to the Capitol building. And she would show the World that Trump "had staged an insurrection."
But when the law abiding patriotically minded peaceful protesters did not act in a way to bring discredit to Trump or the MAGA movement, Nancy gave the Police the order to use stun grenades to incite the crowd into violence and prompt them to behave in the predicted violent and angry manner the media has portrayed them to have been.
That false portrayal resulted in many Americans believing that Trump and his supporters are traitors and revolters.
But, the more you look into the J6 protest, the more you will see which will make you question the Democrat and the dishonest media narrative.
And then you will wonder wtf has happened to our country?!
No, US Capitol security is not only Pelosi’s responsibility
More than six weeks after supporters of then-President Donald Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol, posts spread on Facebook c
"Security is shared, it is not solely the responsibility of the Speaker. Security is provided by the sergeant-at-arms of the House, the sergeant-at-arms of the Senate and the Capitol Police. The House sergeant-at-arms reports to the House speaker, Pelosi. The Senate sergeant-at-arms reports to the Senate majority leader, McConnell. The Capitol Police is overseen by a four-member board that includes both sergeants-at-arms.
News reports indicate that before the attack, the House sergeant-at-arms resisted calls from the Capitol Police to bring in the National Guard for extra security at the Capitol because of "optics," but he later said intelligence reports didn’t warrant the extra security.
The chain of command for Capitol security does include Pelosi, but it does not fall solely to her. Others in the chain of command include the Senate majority leader and the Capitol police chief. "
What you are essentially saying is that both Pelosi and McConnell should have micromanaged the security by looking at the intelligence reports and making an assessment of the force required. They entrusted it to the The House sergeant-at-arms, Senate sergeant-at-arms, and Capitol Police Chief, who all resigned in disgrace.
The heads of the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers came prepared to invade the Capitol, were tried and found guilty. I also wonder wtf has happened to our country.
