Trump denied that he had any documents, then he turned over a few, and lied by saying that he had no more. He said he was far to busy to separate documents he filched from his golf clothing. As we know, it is quite difficult to distinguish between a golf shoe and a classified document.

There is a thriving market for old presidential documents. A letter from Lincoln to his son's doctor can be worth hundreds of dollars to a collector. Trump seems to have filched these documents so he could peddle them, perhaps to collectors, perhaps to foreign intel services.

The one sure thing about Trump is that the most important thing to Trump, is Trump himself.
