- Smartmatic has never owned any shares or had any financial stake in Dominion Voting Systems. Smartmatic has never provided Dominion Voting Systems with any software, hardware or other technology. The two companies are competitors in the marketplace.

Samira Saba, a spokeswoman for Smartmatic, told The Associated Press in an email that Los Angeles County is currently the company’s only client in the U.S.
While the chairman of SmartMatics and the SGO Group, Mark Malloch-Brown, serves on the Open Society Foundations Global Board -- founded by George Soros -- SmartMatics is not owned by Soros himself, despite what the post circulating widely on social media suggested.
“Defeat election fraud! On election day, if your voting machine is a SmartMatic brand, Demand a paper ballot. George Soro’s now owns SmartMatic. You have the right to require a paper ballot, and under Federal Law the polling place must provide one for you. Don’t throw your vote away,” the post stated.
The company’s website, smartmatic.com, noted that “George Soros does not have and has never had any ownership stake in Smartmatic.”

The federal government is investigating the takeover last year of a leading American manufacturer of electronic voting systems by a small software company that has been linked to the leftist Venezuelan government of President Hugo Chávez.
The inquiry is focusing on the Venezuelan owners of the software company, the Smartmatic Corporation, and is trying to determine whether the government in Caracas has any control or influence over the firm’s operations, government officials and others familiar with the investigation said.
With a windfall of some $120 million from its first three contracts with Venezuela, Smartmatic then bought the much larger and more established Sequoia Voting Systems, which now has voting equipment installed in 17 states and the District of Columbia.
But the role of the young Venezuelan engineers who founded Smartmatic has become less visible in public documents as the company has been restructured into an elaborate web of offshore companies and foreign trusts.
“The government should know who owns our voting machines; that is a national security concern,” said Representative Carolyn B. Maloney, Democrat of New York, who asked the Bush administration in May to review the Sequoia takeover.
“There seems to have been an obvious effort to obscure the ownership of the company,” Ms. Maloney said of Smartmatic in a telephone interview yesterday. “The Cfius process, if it is moving forward, can determine that.”

Don't be ridiculous. I said Soros owned Smartmatic because I know he divested himself of the company after the 2020 election, which I also clearly stated. I did not say Soros owns Smartmatic which would have made my statement likely wrong.
