The consequences of Obama: Terrorism is back

We have ignored the deer threat for far too long. Too many innocents have died because of the car wrecks these furry menaces have caused. The deaths continue year after year, and yet we ignore them. I say it is time for a war on deer, so that we never again lose another innocent life to these antlered monstrosities. Send in the army to occupy their forests and build fences around our roads. If we do nothing they will only grow more bold.

no its a slippery slope, if we go to war with deer...then who will be next? of course all appose to the deer war are unamerican facist nazi's ( even if thats like saying they are tall short people)

OK now put them on evry airport in the world, and pay for it please, also bomb sniffing tech is not 100%...so what kind do you think they would use? stuff that gets past...Sept was done with box cutters...

Yes, it would be a great use of stimulus money which would create jobs. Sounds like a great idea. Nitrate sniffing systems are better than your giving them credit for. Mix their effectiveness with biologic sensors, video analytics, control room communications hubs within each airport and you now have security that matches that of most large casino's in Vegas.

Tell me why a casino in Vegas has better security technology then our Airports and Train Stations? This type of infrastructure upgrade would create jobs unlike building an airport in PA for 15 people a day.

Please name the last president that did his job then

Sept 11
Kobal Towers
Ok City Bombing
Unibomber
Beruit
Iran hostages
Pan am 103
Shoe bomber
William Buckley, CIA kidnaped killed
83 bombing of US Embassy Kawait..killed 5 , only stopped at gates
just to name a few

fact, we will lose some. Get use to it...but we can kill a hell of a lot of them while try try.

I agree you can't catch them all, but the problem I have is that we are always surprised and then go into react mode. There is so much technology out there to help prevent some of these attacks and yet we have no strategic multi-year plan to implement better systems and communications.

I also recognize that American's on foreign soil have to accept a higher level of risk. My main concern is citizens within our borders.

Why are you guys freaking out about airport terrorism, and not about things that are about equivalently likely to kill you, like lightning strikes and stray deer?

"Oh God, some people, somewhere, almost DIED! Let's blame a bunch of politicians for not keeping us safe! But only if the cause of them almost dying was terrorism. I don't care about those damn deer victims. And never mind that I'm probably more likely to get killed by the crazy taxi driver on my way to the airport, it's the terrorists that really frighten me. They wear funny things on their heads!"

I take offense to your comments. For every person who had friends or family in NYC on 9/11 this is very real. For the soldiers and families at Ft. Hood this is very real. I'm glad the real world doesn't come and touch your life. Realize that's probably because there are men and women out there that get little or no credit for keeping these extremists at bay.

As sweet as all the Obama bashing is surely the point is being missed. This was an intelligence failure on the part of many agencies thus the test for Obama is surely to organise the US intelligence community into something much better and more efficient.

The "war on terror" has been going on for sometime thus one would have assumed that Obama's predecessor would have addressed these issues and had systems in place to deal with such issues!

I agree the test is to see if he can make the system better. My question is, "Why wasn't this one of the first things he looked at when he entered office?"

That'd be another o' those Problems, Obama inherited, alright.....

Still waiting for your answer to my question...come on...have some courage...what do you think Pres. Obama has done wrong so far? What would you like to see him handle differently? Will you for once talk about the current administration. There must be something he could have done better in your eyes.

I had this posted as a separate topic but it was just sitting down there being ignored {heavy sigh}.

Using 'MENTAL MIDGETS' to dictate our COLOR CODE ALERT SYSTEM!

So it would appear that the previous administration really, really didn't have a clue and wasted MILLIONS of dollars on Snake OIL SALESMAN/CRYSTAL BALL PSYCHICS and would allow the DANGER COLOR CODE to be manipulated according to the 'NEED' for the scare tactics to keep the polls where he wanted them...worked for a while anyway...but then the public started getting bored with the rhetoric/lies and found out about the manipulation;)

The SH!T just keeps floating to the surface for what G.W.B. & Company did to this country all out of our being SCARED of THOSE TERRORISTS!

Yep, the CIA under Bush got conned for $30M. So, what was the current administrations excuse for giving him a $3M contract after he was already found to be a fake?

Make no mistake, bad people are out there and just because someone took advantage and fed the intelligence community false data, don't believe for a second that the threat is any less real.

I'm sorry if you find it offensive. But just as many people have died from the deer as from the terrorists, and this is real for them too. Why is it disrespectful to care just as much about the deer victims as we do about the terrorist victims? My opinion is that all lives are equally precious and we should defend ourselves against threats in proportion to how dangerous they are. So since deer and terrorists are about equally dangerous to our lives ...

because you forget, he never went threw a US airport?

The deer problem is manifested by people who don't understand the natural evolution of forestry. Limiting hunting is one of the major contributors to the accidents. Over population has caused deer to migrate into more populated areas that they would otherwise avoid. What we need to do is get special interest (PETA) to stop paying off Legislators.

How many people have died in deer related accidents in each of the last 10 years? If you have valid data I'll put it on my radio show and in my newsletter, but I think you are just pulling my leg, in which case stop wasting my time.

why was it not done before he was in office? why did you never say anything about it before Xmas?

I've been screaming at the top of my lungs about this issue since 9/11. I've been on at least 3 premise security task forces that proposed this over and over to both administrations. My question is why has there been no action? No payoffs and campaign contributions to gain for the politicians, just saving lives.

Maybe, just maybe your standard of knowledge and the finite inner workings for the entire process for PRESIDENT needs some adjustments...or better yet how would you have done the job better?
I mean we seem quite capable of constant arm chair quarter backing after the fact...so just how would we do his job better then he has?
And as much as I hate to say this...of the 16 agencies that are supposed to be reporting to the National Security Agency...who knows whats not working until something exactly like this shows the gaps/cracks/potholes in the chain of communication?
Tell me why a casino in Vegas has better security technology then our Airports and Train Stations? This type of infrastructure upgrade would create jobs unlike building an airport in PA for 15 people a day.
COME ON...REALLY, you really want to compare the security system in a tightly confined area with the global area of air ports? Well, Ok, lets see...hmmm

Casino's are privately owned and driven by profits...unbalance that profit margin and the owners going to be UNHAPPY, steal from those owners and they really aren't going to be happy, fix a card game and they'll most likely ban you for life & / or brake some body parts in the process...and {AND} the Casino's are built and constructed with that one primary thought process as the main motivator...watching everyone and anyone who might/could steal from them.

Airports; owned and operated by a multitude of international agencies/private investors/state agencies/and tax dollars and that all important existing issue of privacy that we AMERICANS have become so attached to and {AND} airports were built to expedite humans/luggage/freight...and they haven't had an exemplary track record of doing that very efficiently either! It's just been within the past 6 years that the hidden cameras have shown how much destruction/stealing goes on back there in that behind the scenes luggage handling process...WHO KNEW?

See, I can't really call that a good comparison...I understand your frustration but it just doesn't make for a equal comparison!
