Obama Vs Fox News

First I would not have appointed people who continually say they are gainst capitalism.

One of our problems is the amount of money coming into the govt is declining as the un-employment continues to grow. That's because people who do not work, pay less tax.

Why hasn't Obama come out in favor of the Fair Tax. That is a solution that would boost revenue to the govt, because everyone that spends, pays their share of the tax.
By doing away with the current burdensome tax system, it would create an environment that would draw businesses here.

He then needs to come out against Cap and Tax. I'm sure many companies that will be affected by this are the ones who are laying off and downsizing in anticipation of this enormous tax they will have to pay.

But as long as he has people in the white house that are anti-capitalist and for big governemnt, those solutions will never come.

Nancy Pelosi said she beleives in a VAT tax. That's going to help who? Prices will go up for everything we buy, actually, hurting the local govts tax revenues.

I think Obama is listening to much to the Unions. That is because he gets so much money from them. A lot of the health care legislationis going to benefit them with Union Jobs, and 10bil to fund their "broke" retirement health plans.

The "fair" tax is just a screw waiting to happen to the middle class.

True. The poor will be even more subsidized and the rich will be going off to the bank just as often.

Pros - The current paradigm remains intact.
Cons - The poor might get a few extra bucks that could have went to the rich.

Until the wealth inequity is reigned in, then nothing will get better. At this point, it's going to take a complete crash to for anything to change.

And look before you go down the class warfare line...

Plato warned Aristotle what would happen when the gulf between the rich and poor became to great.
That warning was born out in Rome.
But Americans don't need to pay attention to that lesson because we're exceptional. The rules don't apply to us.

I get it. Wisdom only comes from suffering.

Again. the personal attacks.

I'll ask again. Have you tried to read about the fair tax....
Hey...you brought-it-up.

I assumed you knew what you were talking-about, but.....there are others (like you) running-free......

Finally - other news organizations stand up for the 1st ammendment.

If the govt can silence fox, that would be a precedent for the other news organizations.

I'm glad they understand this and are taking a stand.

Just like hunters understand the importance of gun rights, and librarians understand the importance of avoiding censorship, news sources all understand the importance of the free press.

Obama knew he had them in the bag but he made the mistake of not realizing that their allegiance to freedom of the press would be greater than their allegiance to him.

A corner has been turned. Maybe, just maybe, we will have some more honest reporting than we have had.

This guy flat out lied to this lady. Obama has said on many occasions before he was elected he's for the single payer system.

This guy is so smug, as are most liberals, when they attack anyone disagreeing with the liberal point of view.

Medicare is socialism. This guy wants to repeal it. Fine, Let the govt give back all the money they stole from those people who have paid in.

What he doesnt get is we shouldn't use a bad example to make a case for changing health care.

Everyone should see that video. There should be a transcript made too.

You should also start a whole thread with it and ask people if they understand that it is indeed a trojan horse for a universal single payer system.

The Media has become much too bias whether it's under the "control" of the Government or not, the media should be there to give you an unbias flow of information on what's happening in the world and let the viewer decide what to think, instead it's the opposite, they give you a bias flow of information on what's happening in the world and tell you what to think about it.
The current state of the media certainly deserves a discussion.

How 'bout when they give access to someone who DOES know what The Facts are??????

"Wendell Potter, a former in$urance company executive turned whistle-blower, said the report is aimed to shape reform "for their benefit and at the benefit of Wall Street shareholders, more than Americans."

"This is a desperation move on the part of the insurance industry, because analysts are now somewhat concerned ... that the bill may not be absolutely everything that the industry wants, and that's what's driving this -- Wall Street's expectations that this bill may not be everything they'd hoped and prayed for."

Oh pleeeease!!!

The fact is a single payer system DOES create the most cost savings.

That's just a plain fact. President Obama said this waaay before he was even President. Pointed this FACT out. Should be no surprise to anybody. He speaks the truth.

Now as for the political reality of only being able to make our current system better but not being able to get all the way to single payer right now. That's fine. Often you have to make a smaller step in a good direction... prove that it works... and then go to the next step of improvement.

Or you could be a Republicant with his head buried in the sand and simply say... Problem... what problem... I don't see no stinking problem.

Just when I think you couldn't possibly come up with anymore unique ways to make a point... you hit yet another home run.

Pictures tell a thousand words.

Kudos my friend... kudos!

Since you posted the "then" so well. I'll clip the present...

You can keep drinking the 'socialist' kool aid all you want. I will not.

The current state of the media certainly deserves a discussion.

Today I read that a professor of journalism is proposing that mainstream media receive tax payer funds so that they can continue as usual. How do you suppose that would go along with a president who prefers to stifle his opposition rather than debate it?

No it would not.

"As for administrative expenses, any advantage for the public plan is exaggerated, say critics. Part of the gap between private insurers and Medicare is statistical illusion: Because Medicare recipients have higher average health expenses ($10,003 in 2007) than the under-65 population ($3,946), its administrative costs are a smaller share of total spending. The public plan, with younger members, wouldn't enjoy this advantage."
