If a thread is a fizzle there is no point in a moderator wasting time checking it out and making a decision.

If a poster finds nothing but ridicule by others who think the post is outlandish, and the poster wants it deleted because of ridicule, that is not a good reason for deletion, because the poster should learn what the audience is like and how people react.

"...wasting time checking it out and making a decision."

I recall watching an episode of the futuristic cartoon show, "The Jetsons," and George Jetson complaining of being over worked because, for a few hours a week, he had to push buttons.

So, you don't care, one way or the other?
I think deleting threads should not be allowed because losers who are crushed will start abusing deletion just to save face.
Thread locking is a popular way to handle a thread that has taken a bad turn.
Which thread other than this do you want deleted, if I may ask?

You know what happens when you assume?
