(The former US ambassador to Ukraine, Marie Yovanovitch, and the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, George Kent, testified in Trump's impeachment inquiry that Shokin was corrupt; the US and its allies had made a coordinated effort to oust him.)

Some Democrats and election officials have said clerks should not turn over their material as part of an investigation into an election that multiple courts have found to be valid. Further, the U.S. Department of Justice has warned officials they could violate federal laws if they don’t maintain custody of their election records.

Democrats refuse to turn over records to state election officials for multiple reasons, none of which are compatible with ensuring the election was void of fraud. One argument goes like this:

'Fraud-denying, Trump-hating officials should absolutely refuse to honor legitimate requests for the voting materials by non-democrats because courts have declared, without examination, that no fraud took place.'

When Shokin was first appointed prosecutor Ambassador Yovanovitch advised him to go along with the status quo with regards to Burisma, but Shokin refused. That angered Yovanovitch and other Americans who were getting payoffs from Burisma in its ongoing criminal enterprise. That is why Yovanovitch and Biden hated Shokin and dishonestly slandered him in an effort to stop him. Joe Biden did not fire Shokin in order to get the Burisma investigation moving more efficiently. Biden had Shokin fired to stop the Burisma investigation.

The fact that the Burisma investigation was essentially shut down by Joe Biden proves beyond doubt that his intention was always to have the investigation shut down, not speeded up.
