the supreme court in this land just said that corporations have the same rights as individuals.

Of the people, for the people, by the people. We just lost that. I am depressed. Corporations are not people. They are huge money mongering associations. And if we give up our rights to corporations, we are done. The supreme court of this land just gave up our rights.

I am done, I am sorry, but I want to puke now. This is the biggest sell out to our democracy since George the third. Can I now move to Canada? Canada didn't sacrifice their best and brightest to revolution. But, at least they held on to their humanity. Corporations are now able to dictate our rights. Good going you f'ing conservatives. I thought conservatives wanted to protect our sovereign rights. I guess their fears are paramount. F the constitution. Whatever is takes to assauge the right wing, previous upholders of the constitution. Obama is so repugnant that you will sacrifice the constitution? Remember that it was John McCain's law that the supreme court overturned.

Good luck without health care, good luck without individual rights. All hail to corporate power. Let's see how they treat the 'little people'.

Seems fair if they have to pay taxes like an individual then corporations should have the same rights as individuals.

If people stop trying to tax them I jump on board to not let them have freedom of speech.

we cant smack it to them from both ends and say you owe taxes like all Americans but you dont have a say or free speech to advocate your point of view like all Americans.

The supreme court ruled that corporations have the same right to free speech that unions enjoy.

Would you have preferred a ruling that barred both corporations and unions from voicing an opinion on elections?

CLEAN UP ON ANOTHER TOPIC...this makes two places where you have posted this erroneous statement

This decision wasn't about the UNIONS...the supreme court hasn't and didn't hear any argument about the UNIONS and their ability or the lack there of to spend what they wanted on commercials/advertisement for or against any person running for an elected office...this decision was strictly about CORPORATIONS and only CORPORATIONS...the supreme court may hear arguments at a later date regarding UNIONS!

Man, for someone that expounds about 'FACTS' and getting things correct you sure went above and beyond to goof this idea up. TWICE IN THE SAME DAY! GOOD GRIEF

So then do you think they should get to vote?

They are not people, and we need to stop acting like they are, and have the sames rights as actual Citizens.

Also I just read a thread that said they don't pay taxes...so hmmm

OH, CORPORATIOS DO vote!! At least they can if they so desire, Just like UNION GOONS vote if they are told to and whom for!!!

SEE, Corporrations are COMPOSED of HUMANS not ROBOTS, So as HUMAN citizens in AMERICA they may VOTE if they meet LEGAL requirements.Union members can VOTE at least once for whomever they are told to VOTE for.PLUS there are no legal requirements for many members , most often even the DEAD can vote, especially in Chicago, Detroit, etc. ACORNS are known to vote and delivered to POLLS by Squirrels!

No.

They are not real! Its absolutly stupid to tax them or give them a voice, both are silly. But if the left insists on taxing them like they were a real person then they should at least get the voice of a real person.

If I had my way they would not have a voice and they would not need it becaus they wouldnt be targeted and taxed by liberals.

Corporations don't pay taxes huh? If you are talking about the ones that didn't make any money, then yea, they probably did not pay some taxes.

All of these reports that claim companies do not pay taxes count the sales of a company and then look at the tax bill. This is entirely misleading, since companies pay taxes on profit, not on sales.

In Oregon if a corporation does not make a dime they still have to pay ten dollars a year in taxes. The idiots of my state are trying to up that to 150 a year if you did not make a dime and 2% MORE of everything you make retroactive to last jan 2009 and an extra tax to all evil people who made more than 150 thousand (before taxes) they will fall to the same fate.

I think the stupid thing is going to pass and all it will do is make companies go out of business, make our very high unemployment even higher and all to bail out our PERS and make sure us government folk get raises.

Its sad and disgusting how people hate business. Why dont they tax sports stars and movie stars instead, at least a corperation produces jobs where stars and starlets produce nothing

Free speech is not decided at the pleasure of government bureaucrats, nor is it a function of your socioeconomic grade, or party affiliation, or what the current administration happens to think of you.

Cute how GenSeneca has to have you do his speaking/typing for him

But My source and the supreme court ruling is still exactly what I've posted it:
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/34822247...supreme_court/
The case does not affect political action committees, which mushroomed after post-Watergate laws set the first limits on contributions by individuals to candidates. Corporations, unions and others may create PACs to contribute directly to candidates, but they must be funded with voluntary contributions from employees, members and other individuals, not by corporate or union treasuries.
But it didn't surprise me in the least that you would be the interpreter for him...do you also provide sign language interpretation too/mind reading/tea leaves/taro cards/palm reading...LMAO

Gen did not ask me to post that. I just happen to know you are on his ignore list so I took it upon myself to post it. I even took the time to find sites you normally would accept. NYTimes and MSNBC.

Sorry you feel that way.

But, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way to Canucksville. No need to follow immigration laws. Just cross the border and stay...a good idea is to learn to speak French and you will be welcomed in Quebec.

Can you please take Dorothy with you?:)

She loves that song...Oh Canada...Our socialist home and non-native land...:D
